New Sunday and holiday ballet classes for students in Grade 6/Intermediate Foundation + above to take place at Highgate Ballet School beginning Sunday 29th March 2026
Classical Ballet classes take place on the last Sunday afternoon of each month at Highgate Ballet School, London N6, (except August and December) and at the beginning and end of the school holidays.
Aimed at pre-vocational dancers working at intermediate foundation and above who are looking to supplement their current ballet training, the focus is on jumps, turns and quality of movement. Some pointework may be included, for more advanced level students.
No prior knowledge or training in the style of Cecchetti or Bournonville is necessary.
Classes are taught by Julie Cronshaw RBS Dip. TTC FISTD, former professional dancer, Founder & Director of Highgate Ballet School, Creator of Ballet’s Secret Code and TheCecchettiConnection.com

Miss Julie, the owner and director of Highgate Ballet Schoolwould like to offer both our own and external senior level students in Grades 6 and above, the opportunity to take more classical ballet classes in the holidays and monthly on Sunday afternoons in the hall at the United Reformed Church in Pond Square, Highgate, London N6. The classes will also include pointework.
These classes will be aimed at enthusiastic dancers wishing to extend their ballet vocabulary as well as improve their technique. These classes can be attended as 'Drop-In' classes. However if all classes are attended and paid in advance, there is a 10% discount available. A single Drop-In class fee: £25.00 .
The classes are 1.75-2 hours long, non-syllabus with pointe, and will include elements of the Bournonville technique which has developed countless dancers of international renown over the past 80+ years.
The dates and times are:
Easter Holiday classes: Monday 30th, Tuesday 31st March and Wednesday 1st April 10.15-12noon
Classical Ballet on Sunday Afternoon #1 (CBoSA): 29th March, 3-5pm
CBoSA Sunday #2 26th April 5-7pm
CBoSA Sunday #3 31st May 4-6pm
CBoSA Sunday #4 28th June 4-6pm (in the chapel space)
CBoSA Sunday #5 26th July 3-5pm
The focus will be on developing the movement quality and strong jump technique of this training, which is garnering much renewed enthusiasm owing to Bournonville ballets being performed by students from the Royal Ballet School, Paris Opera Ballet School and others.
Miss Julie has been fortunate to have spent time learning this technique on occasion, over the past 20 years with top Bournonviliens including Flemming Ryberg, Dinna Bjorn and Peter Brandenhoff with whom she collaborated on a Cecchetti meets Bournonville workshop project in Italy last October.
If you would like further information and to register your young dancer's spot in the class please contact Ros or Julie by email or call Julie on 020 84581377.
