This month's mix is one for the House Heads! A mix inspired by my fascination with Jackin' US House music. Having really gotten into the sound in the early 2000's when I lived in Bermuda ,with producers like Joey Youngman, Derrick Carter, Bryan Jones, The Sound Republic, DJ Sneak and Lawnchair Generals and labels such as Guesthouse, Fe**sh Recordings, Nightshift, Classic and Jackin' Tracks. A mix CD by Mark Farina was always close to hand!

The Nuschool producers have kept the sound alive and well, with Demuir and his label, Purveyor Underground, being my current pick of the crop. Notable mention to Saison and the wonderful No Fuss label. Two recent additions from artists I wasn't familiar with include BAKA G and Trevor Vichas / Andrew Lozano with banging records.

May's mix for Electronic Convergence mix features a selection of breaks and electro from the archives. The majority of the records included I picked up while I was living in Vancouver, Canada from 1999-2001. Every Saturday morning, I would spend 4-5 hours going around to my favourite records stores and digging through the new arrivals. From my apartment on Robson & Howe, I would make my way to Bassix (West Hastings St.), then on to Future Funk (Granville St.) and finish up in Boomtown (Burrard St.). During my time in Vancouver, I was part of the POUND Recordings crew and played out under my DEX OF HAZZARD alias. Great memories!
