The Creative Children's Art Corner The art workshops offer different artistic experiences with weekly workshops for young artists aged 6 to 11. Those kids… they keep you young!

I spent the last ten years of my London life running art and crafts workshops to children aged 4 to 11 years old here in South London, between after school clubs, festivals, art classes and birthday parties. Teaching them what I know, giving them ideas, making sure they understand colours and the billions things they can do with their hands, introducing them to new techniques and new materials, sh

owing them that everything is possible and that we have no limit, understanding them, making art together, and the most important, having fun! I saw a lot of children growing, becoming creative and more confident. I have always seen children coming to art club with a big smile and leaving with a bigger one. Things have changed in my life and I stopped running my art sessions in 2020. Sometimes life show you other paths. It does not mean that it is over for good, but I’m having a break at the moment. So my friends, for anyone creative who is thinking about starting art sessions to children: if you love having children around you, are patient enough, love making new stuff all the time, love not to follow the rules, and love making you own artistic rules, if you think about this job with passion, just go for it! Kids are the best human beings! They catch everything so easily and can learn from you as much as you can learn from them too. These 10 years have been the greatest for me, really! Here are a lot of photos, plenty of ideas of my arts and crafts classes with those kids, done through the years. Enjoy, be inspired, make art and have fun!

Today, I drew houses at the window using a white chalkboard marker and by doing it, I just remembered this fantastic art project that we did with my very creative pupils years ago.

How much I love this Winter City Lanscape Art Work! 😍 I took the inspiration from different art projects I saw online and I've loved this one!
This is the very last art project we did with my Y3 aged children during the after school club!
Their did it in two parts: first drawing houses with as much details as possible (windows, doors, texture. ..) and yesterday was the fun part: using soft pastels to create the background! "Children you will have your hands dirty but this is completely fine, you can go wash your hands at anytime! " Some children hate that, well these ones enjoyed it a lot! They created some beautiful skies with the pastels and added the stars using acrylic .
Well done you mini artists! This is amazing! See you after the holiday with some other great art projects! 😀🎨🎄

Who did one at home to fill the days ?

I received some fun pictures from families who did it with their kids at that time and it was all fun!

What a year last year! What a first lockdown we had...

What I loved it's that we had a full community online from all kind of people around the world to make all of us occupied and less depressed 👌👍There were such a positive vibe coming out from that global lockdown.

So here was my idea of an easy art challenge that anyone can do at home at anytime.

1 letter a day with 1 colour a day, for 7 days with objects from home (Tony Cragg Inspiration).

Last year, I made this little keyring of a happy cactus using polymer clay. I made it for a birthday girl and this little one was very happy about it. 🤗🌵🎁
Are you ever used fimo clay? It is something that I use once in a while with my young artists during art club. They create their own keyring and they are always very proud of it.
The material isn't cheap but it is worth it. Once cooked it is solid and doesn't move. 👌
Over the years we made figurines for snow globes, cakes, all sort of keyrings, brooches...

On a normal time, everyone can play music everywhere outside and it is always a great day! 🤗
Last year during our Krafty Kids session, our artists made some very cool guitars for the occasion and it was all fun to see them playing guitar like rock stars! 🎶🎸🎨😀🤘

My mini artists loved it: they designed their own stencils, used a screen, and acrylic with medium. They left the workshop very proud of their t-shirt 🤗 and they did so well! .
