We are looking for the following instruments:
->Reeds: Ideally able to play more than one of Flute, Piccolo, Clarinet, Bass Clarinet, Bassoon, Soprano/Alto/Tenor/Bari Sax; however, do still apply even if you are only able to play one of these!
->Trumpet: Optional tripling with Flugelhorn and Piccolo Trumpet
->Trombone: Optional doubling with Bass Trombone
->Violin
->Viola
->Cello
->Guitar (Electric and/or Acoustic): Optional doubling with Banjo. Must be able to read standard notation (i.e. no tab/tablature) and spell chords
->Keys
->Bass (Electric): Must be able to read standard notation (i.e. no tab/tablature)
->Drum (Kit)
->Percussion: Shakers, Mark Tree, Suspended Cymbal, Bell Tree, Tambourine, Triangle, Glockenspiel, Cowbell, Wood Block, Temple Blocks, Siren Whistle, Bell Plate, Ratchet, Crotales, Djembe, Finger Cymbals. Timpani on programmed keyboard, so basic keyboard skills are a plus!
⚠Band members are required on the following dates:
-Nov. 21, Nov. 27, Dec. 4: 1-4 PM (Band Rehearsals, dates and times are tentative)
-Dec. 5 3-6 PM - Call Time ~2 PM (Sitzprobe)
-Dec. 7 Evening - Call Time ~6:30 PM (Dress Rehearsal)
-Dec. 8, 9, 10 Evening - Call Time ~6:30 PM (Show Nights)
Additionally, ONLY for Keyboard 1:
-Dec.6 Evening (Tech Rehearsal)
Although no formal qualifications are required, the minimum expected standard is grade 8 or equivalent. Band members should be confident at reading sheet music and are expected to learn their parts prior to the rehearsals. No prior experience playing in pit orchestras is necessary.
In some cases, you may be asked to audition (most likely extracts from songs to be performed).
