”I’m a cow / you’re a b*tch” tarkastelee patriarkaalisen kapitalismin, naisvihan ja luonnonvarojen riiston risteyskohtia transmaskuliinisesta ja ihmistä laajemmasta näkökulmasta.

Transruumiin ja lehmän sydämen välillä on side. Neulan ja langan muodostaman yhteyden kautta syntyy herkkä painon, kivun ja etäisyyden tanssi. Suhde alkaa muodostua Symin ja sydämen välillä; kulutuksen ja kantamiemme taakkojen välillä; väkivallan ja (uudelleen)tuotannolle ja hallitsemiselle hyödyllisinä pidettyjen ruumiiden välillä.

‘I’m a cow / you’re a b*tch’ interrogates the intersections of patriarchal capitalism, misogyny and extraction from a transmasc and more-than-human perspective.

There is a tethering, between a trans body and the heart of a cow. Through this connection of needle and thread, there is also a delicate dance of weight, pain and distance. A relationship begins to form between Sym and the heart; between consumption and the burdens we carry, and the violence that is inflicted upon bodies seen as beneficial for (re)production and domination.

How is performance a tool for growth, connection and self-determination?

Welcome Regina Agard-Brathwaite (reginaabrathwaite) as Curator in Residence!

Regina will use the residency at LADA to deepen her research into decolonial approaches to curating Black Live Art, exploring how knowledge held and transmitted through the body can inform curatorial practice beyond dominant institutional and archival models.

Through time with the Live Art Research Collection, conversations with artists and public moments of reflection, Regina will explore how embodied knowledge, diasporic traditions, and collective practices might shape new curatorial frameworks.

Regina Agard-Brathwaite is a producer and emerging curator based in London. Alongside her independent curatorial practice, Regina has worked across theatre, Live Art, and community-engaged performance as a producer and programme coordinator.

Since 2014, Finnish performance art duo Kainulainen & Latva () have produced a prolific and unique body of work from their profoundly intimate and collaborative dynamic. Informed by narratives of personal trauma, twinned with accounts of Finnish folklore, the work explores neurodivergence, power relations and gender.

Join us for the UK launch of Kainulainen & Latva’s monograph, Globus Hystericus, published in 2025 by publishing house Taide. Katri Kainulainen and Maximilian Latva will give a presentation with documentation video extracts and luscious images of their extraordinary performances that have been presented in both their native Finland and internationally.

LADA is collaborating with London Games Festival 2026 to host a Game Jam and Interactive Talk with artists Danielle Brathwaite-Shirley & Symoné.

The Rules of Watching responds to the central theme of spectatorship and agency. The emphasis is on experimentation, collective problem solving and peer exchange, with space to test and reflect on how different modes of play shape relationships between subject, player and viewer.
