Juan Tamariz 1942–2026

The world of magic has lost one of its greatest artists, teachers and thinkers.

Juan Tamariz was a true original. His extraordinary creativity, warmth and infectious joy transformed the way generations of magicians thought about magic and his influence will continue to be felt around the world for many years to come.

In recognition of his immense contribution to the art, Juan was awarded The Magic Circle’s Devant Award in 2025. The award recognises those who have made a significant contribution to advancing the art of magic.

Thank you, Juan.

You will be profoundly missed, but never forgotten.
