After our July and August summer break, we’re really looking forward to returning with our monthly jam sessions and concerts from September.

We are delighted to welcome, for the first time at Highams Park Jazz Club, the outstanding harmonica player Pat Levett as our special guest artist.

Pat Levett is one of the UK’s most respected harmonica players, celebrated for his expressive sound, lyrical improvisation and remarkable versatility. Over a career spanning several decades, he has performed across a wide range of musical styles, including jazz, blues, folk and contemporary music, collaborating with many outstanding musicians in the UK and beyond. His distinctive approach combines exceptional technical skill with warmth, sensitivity and an unmistakable musical voice.

Whether performing beautiful melodies or inventive improvisations, Pat brings imagination, energy and genuine musicality to every performance. We are delighted to welcome him to Highams Park Jazz Club for what promises to be a memorable evening of music.

We are delighted to welcome the Sophie Alloway Quartet to Highams Park Jazz Club for their first appearance at the club on Saturday, 19 September.

This concert also marks the beginning of our new monthly concert season, and we are very excited to open the programme with such a fantastic line-up of musicians.

Sophie Alloway is a highly versatile and in-demand drummer on the London jazz scene. She has performed with many leading artists including Jason Rebello, Yazz Ahmed, Laurence Cottle, Tony Kofi, Nigel Price and Tony Allen. Her wide-ranging career has taken her across jazz, fusion, pop and contemporary music, including touring with Roots Manuva, Gala and the Michael Jackson musical Thriller.
Sophie has also been the drummer with the original fusion band Lydian Collective for over a decade, building a strong international following. As a session musician, she has recorded at renowned studios including Abbey Road, with television credits including Later… with Jools Holland, the Glastonbury Festival and the BBC Young Jazz Musician of the Year.

For this special evening, Sophie brings together an exceptional quartet featuring three of the finest musicians on the UK jazz scene: Mornington Lockett, Laurence Cottle and Jim Mullen.

Together, the quartet bring a wealth of experience, creativity and musicianship to the opening concert of our new monthly season at Highams Park Jazz Club.

We provide a fully equipped kitchen. You prepare and sell your own food on-site, with no table service required.

We’re excited to welcome Rob Luft to the Highams Park Jazz Club for the first time as guest artist at our jam session on 21st June. Recently crowned ‘Instrumentalist of the Year’ at the 2025 Parliamentary Jazz Awards, Rob is undeniably one of the most exciting jazz guitarists in Europe of his generation. Hailing from London, this award-winning virtuoso has garnered consistent comparisons to legends such as Bill Frisell, John McLaughlin and Pat Metheny.

His debut album, Riser, released in 2017 on Edition Records, made an enormous impact on the domestic and international jazz scenes, and was selected by Downbeat Magazine as one of the finest albums of 2017. Winning the prestigious Kenny Wheeler Jazz Prize at Royal Academy of Music propelled Luft’s career, and at just 23 years old, he presented a collection of originals showcasing a remarkable instrumental sound and compositional voice that reflected his individuality.

His highly-anticipated follow up album, Dahab Days, showcased continuous artistic growth and musical exploration. Released on Edition Records in October 2023, the album marked another significant milestone in his career. Around this time, Luft’s selection as a BBC New Generation Artist culminated with him being commissioned to compose a guitar concerto for performance at the EFG London Jazz Festival with the BBC Symphony Orchestra.

Recent collaborations with John Surman, Manu Katché and Elina Duni on ECM Records have further solidified his reputation and expanded his reach throughout continental Europe.

Other accolades include the Silver Prize in The 2016 Montreux Jazz Festival Guitar Competition, adjudicated by guitar great John McLaughlin, as well as winning the Presto Music “Jazz Recording of the Year” 2024 for his trio album As Time Passes with famed Norwegian bassist Arild Andersen.

We are very excited to announce our second programme of 2026 and are really looking forward to all the events ahead.

We would also like to extend our sincere thanks to all the artists who will be part of this amazing programme, including Pat Levett, Sophie Alloway, Jim Mullen, Alex Clarke, Andy Davies, Okan Ersan, Julian Siegel, George Crowley, Immy Churchill, and Byron Wallen.

Just a quick note: our last Jam Session before the summer break will take place on 21 June and will feature the fantastic guitarist Rob Luft. After that, we will be taking a well-deserved break during July and August.

We are delighted to return on 6 September with the outstanding harmonica player Pat Levett, and we can’t wait to welcome you back.
