Kemi Onabulé’s work is on view at Drawing Room London’s ‘Drawing Biennial 2026’. Visit the exhibition tomorrow for ‘Collecting Drawing’, a special conversation on the art of collecting and championing drawing practices, on Saturday 13th June from 2pm to 4pm. Free entry, all welcome.

Collector and curator Sarah Elson, founder of Launchpad, joins forces with Oyinkansola Dada, founder of Dada Gallery (London/Lagos) for a conversation with a selection of Drawing Biennial 2026 artists – Okiki Akinfe, Peter Davies, Kemi Onabulé, Anna Perach, Lara Shahnavaz and Sharon Walters – exploring what it means to collect and support artists’ drawing practice today. The artists themselves will also take the floor, sharing insights into their works in the Biennial, offering a rare, personal glimpse into their creative processes.

We’re delighted to share Daisy Parris’ new work will be part of ‘Rashid, Sheree and Friends’, an popening at Richard Rogers Gallery at Chateau La Coste.

Bringing together Rashid Johnson, Sheree Hovsepian and a community of invited artists, this programme explores the power of artistic kinship, creative exchange and collective vision.

Rooted in longstanding friendships, shared histories and ongoing dialogue, the exhibitions reflect a belief that art is not created in isolation but emerges through connection, collaboration and the meaningful relationships that sustain creative practice over time.

Developed in close conversation with the architecture and landscape of Château La Coste, this programme embodies values that have long defined the vineyard: openness, exchange and a commitment to bringing artists together across disciplines, generations and geographies.

On now, Melissa Joseph’s exhibition ‘Heft’ was created in response to her research following sheep across Scotland. In this exhibition Joseph draws on her Indian-American upbringing to illustrate a resonant parallel between animal instinct and human migration, beginning with how ewes pass down vital spatial knowledge to their lambs, an inherited understanding of where to gather, move, and remain without the need for fences. When disease or loss interrupts this lineage, that knowledge fractures, leaving the flock disoriented. Joseph uses this phenomenon as a lens to explore diaspora, where displacement disrupts the transmission of cultural, emotional, and epigenetic memory.

Sim Smith presents two solo exhibitions for London Gallery Weekend 2026, ‘Heft’ by New York based artist Melissa Joseph and ‘A Thin Place’ by British sculptor Max Bainbridge.

Please join us for a special In Conversation between the artists, moderated by Head of Curatorial and Interpretation at The Design Museum Dr Lucia Savi, on Saturday, 6th June, 11:30am to 12pm.

‘A Thin Place’ explores the fragile threshold between earth and sky, presence and absence, body and landscape. Drawing on a deeply personal engagement with nature, Bainbridge’s sculptures emerge from a physical and spiritual process where material absorbs the energy of its making — trunks become torsos, sap becomes skin, and hollowed forms echo the human body. An ash tree’s suspended crown, pared back to a delicate membrane, hovers above its solid, earthbound heart, forming a physical manifestation of a psychological state shared by artist and environment. These works navigate a “thin place,” where boundaries between people and nature dissolve, reflecting personal experiences of fear, loss, and grief.

‘Heft’ is Joseph’s first large-scale exhibition in the UK, created in response to her research following sheep across Scotland. She reflects on how first and second-generation communities are often left to reconstruct a broken code, piecing together belonging, identity, and survival in unfamiliar landscapes.

Melissa Joseph’s solo exhibition ‘Heft’ was created in response to her research following sheep across Scotland.

She reflects on how first and second-generation communities are often left to reconstruct a broken code, piecing together belonging, identity, and survival in unfamiliar landscapes. The exhibition will see ambitious large scale felted works created from Scottish fleece as well as parts of the landscape encapsulated as part of the exhibition.
