A RIGHT/LEFT PROJECT / UNKLE - Origin (Unkle Reconstruction) (A RIGHT/LEFT PROJECT)
ORIGIN is a collective deep-listening experience created by A Right/Left Project (artists Stephen Dobbie and Colin Nightingale), featuring an original 20-minute soundtrack composed by Stephen, Colin and Toby Young, with lighting design by Ben Donoghue. Exploring themes around the cycle of life and humanity’s connection to nature, the piece originally debuted over the May Day bank holiday weekend in 2024 — a time of year in the UK that traditionally marks the transition from spring to summer. This celebration of new life and renewal provided a fitting moment to share the work publicly, leading to further presentations as part of London Design Festival 2024 and Richmond Arts & Ideas Festival 2025. It also led to a bespoke version being created for the National Trust property Dunham Massey in Cheshire, where it has been experienced by more than 10,000 people since beginning its residency in May 2025. The overwhelmingly positive response to the work, along with numerous requests for the music to be made available, has led to this limited-edition vinyl release, featuring cover artwork designed by Stephen inspired by the monolithic sculpture at heart of the installation. In keeping with the cyclical theme at the heart of the project, Colin and Stephen approached James Lavelle to react and respond to the artwork. This became a full-circle moment for all involved, following their earlier collaboration on Beyond The Road — the immersive, walk-through album experience that debuted across the top floor of Saatchi Gallery in 2019 before transferring to Seoul for a six-month run in 2021. At the heart of Beyond The Road was Stephen and Colin responding to the music of UNKLE to create a unique experience. It therefore felt fitting that, this time, James would respond to ORIGIN — finding inspiration in the artwork to create a new piece of music. James Lavelle A Right Left Project

SMOOVE - Multitrack Reworks Vol 15 (Series 2) (MULTITRACK REWORKS)
Smoove delivers another pair of exceptional reworks, breathing fresh life into two disco classics from 1978 and 1979. Staying true to the spirit of the original recordings while adding his signature production touch, both tracks feel timeless yet perfectly suited for today’s dancefloors. On the A-side, Was That All It Was opens with crisp, punchy drums before gradually unfolding into a masterclass in arrangement. Layer by layer, Smoove rebuilds the track, allowing Jean Carne’s stunning vocal performance to shine through lush string breakdowns, soaring brass, and an irresistible groove. The flip features Runaway Love, taking a slightly deeper, slower approach. Euphoric backing vocals, warm Fender Rhodes, sweeping strings, and impeccably tight percussion combine to create an uplifting, soulful journey. BRS - Time to Shuff EP (SITUATIONISM)
The “Time To Shuff” EP was the first ever release from UK deep house pioneers BRS (British Rhythm Services) in 2000, originally on Cyclo records. Situationism Records are excited to be able to re-issue this timeless classic and sort after EP from BRS …26 years later and we have lovingly repressed on vinyl and emulated the original artwork.

STEVE BUG & STEFAN BRAATZ - Circles EP (NU GROOVE RECORDS)
Electronic mainstays and longtime collaborators Steve Bug and Stefan Braatz return to cult NYC label Nu Groove with the vinyl edition of their four-track EP, Circles. Showcasing a refined blend of new deep house, acid and underground club sonics, the EP opens with ‘Circles’, featuring the Chicago legend Virgo Four whose vocals bring a timeless energy to the record. A driving Beat Mix follows, transforming the original into a tougher, more DJ-ready cut. On the flip, ‘Nu Acid’ dives into raw machine funk and hypnotic pressure, while ‘Thiz Mood’ closes the EP while highlighting the duo’s mastery of tension and rhythmic detail. BRETT JOHNSON - Broken Machine (20/20 VISION)
20/20 Vision continues to flourish even well into its third decade. For its next trick, the Leeds label welcomes back Brett Johnson, who was last here 20+ years ago. Releases on Classic Records, DJ Heather collaborations and Derrick Carter championing his work all make him a bona fide house hero and ‘Broken Machine’ confirms it. ‘Unstuck’ opens with a mutating disco bassline that refuses to settle, while ‘Juiced’ dives deep into his signature boompty swing with a drop designed for pure devastation. The title track is the centrepiece - a trippy trip that stretches time entirely before ‘iRemember’ closes with starry-eyed ambient pads laced above a deep, slow, gorgeous groove.
