Premiere night of KUZMA in London
A sold-out Barbican premiere brought generations together to celebrate the story of Kuzma — a musician who gave voice to a newly independent Ukraine.
We laughed, sang and cried with Kuzma on the big screen, and were reminded of how fully he lived — and how much life he continues to inspire.
It felt especially meaningful to bring Ukrainian cinema and Ukrainian stories to an iconic cultural space like the Barbican. Presenting our culture on international stages matters: it allows Ukrainian voices, creativity and history to be seen and heard by new audiences, while bringing Ukrainians together far from home.
A huge thank you to our partners Barbican Centre KNIFE! Maksym Serdiuk Артем Григорян and everyone who helped make this evening possible.
We were especially honoured to welcome Rostyslav Domishevskyi, known as Roy, as our special guest — Kuzma’s bandmate and one of the people who created Skryabin alongside him. Roy Domiszewski
