When I was young (3 or 4), I was still not talking so I had speech therapy. That didn’t have much impact so I moved to music therapy. My parents thought m

usic therapy was amazing. Music therapy helped, and music still helps me, to communicate and connect with others, to express / be myself, to be part of the world. Nordoff Robbins is the UK's leading music therapy provider. I asked my mum about her memories of my speech & music therapy. She thinks that I was;

Free to ‘shout’ because I’d found my voice
Enjoyed the ‘music’ making very much,
Very happy to be communicating with ‘musical’ speech,
Emotionally charged because it was something I loved,
Able to ‘talk’ in a language instigated by me
Excited by the music,

I was involved in a road accident in Sept 2011 (which resulted in a broken top jaw, damaged / lost teeth, a bone graft operation from my right hip to my lower jaw and some dental implants), and was treated by the amazing doctors & staff of London's Air Ambulance

An arts festival in London in 2019 will raise money for music therapy charity Nordoff Robbins & London's Air Ambulance. I'm looking for people in London who are passionate about music to join me as co-founder(s) of a music promotion startup called Cheeky Promo

Untamed Silence are a 4 piece , female fronted metal outfit from North Yorkshire. After the lockdown era of 2020 the band began recording and writing their first album The Great Majority.

They've gained critical acclaim for their immersive stage performances of their hooky and memorable tracks like The Game, Deadspeak and Long Time Dead. In November 2025 they again joined Saxon at Manchester Apollo and Sheffield Octagon where they played to sell out crowds.

This band work hard and their riffs, beats and uncannily memorable melodies and lyrics, along with their incredible stage presence belong on big stages. This year they are appearing at Maid of Stone in July and the mighty Bloodstock for its 25th anniversary in August. There’s more to come with the 2nd album in its final stages and exciting gig news for 2027.

Watch out for Dave Jones on Lead guitar, Ryan Wayne Smith on drums Nige Bennion on bass and Debbie Wade (Wadders) on vocals, they are Untamed Silence 🤘you’ll be glad you did.

Little Bohemia (Plymouth, UK): 'This Is Tamar Beat' CD Album

The second album from this quirky Plymouth outfit who have been featured in this zine before. They take the basics of punk, throw in a load of varied influences and sprinkle a bit of magic over the songs with the reward being a batch lof catchy and unique tracks. Paradise Lost' is the perfect opener as it's upbeat with an unforgettable chorus which Little Bohemia seem to have mastered. The crunchy guitar sound fits these songs so well and the bass is punchy throughout providing an unbreakable rhythm section with the drums. Duncan Pope's vocals remind me of Howard Devoto and like the Magazine frontman, his lyrical content jumps the standard boundaries which take you on a very a different journey. It's the variation of styles that attracts me to Little Bohemia and 'Wounds', 'Talk Not', Umbilical', 'Riff Raff' and 'Footprints' are classic examples of what they are capable of. (Rob) 8/10
