"Behind some of the world's greatest hits lies a great question: does constraint breed genius? In this Podcast Edition, Drummer Steven Gilchrist (Graham Coxon, The Damned, and Boney M) and Grammy winning engineer Liam Nolan (Rihanna, Stormzy, the Black Eyed Peas) sit down with our Host Ashea to reveal the behind-the-scenes of Adele's 'Hello,' the meticulous process behind the legendary Drumopolis project with Tony Visconti, and what it really takes to engineer records that resonate globally."

With planned tube strikes from Tuesday 21st-Friday 24th April, we realise some customers may have issues getting to their sessions. FYI - bus routes 45, 59, 133, 159, 250 & 333 stop near the studio (Blenheim Garden/Jebb Avenue), and despite the landlords sticking up scary looking posters in the yard, parking is still free here.

We hope you can still make it, but we’d like to remind that our cancellation policy is 48hrs (before the start of your booking).

Team BXHS.

We have no words how to express the sadness on hearing that Matt Kwasniewski-Kelvin has died. We were privileged to house him and Black MIDI in their early days and watched him perform regularly on the stage of the Windmill and from there his band’s ascent into stardom. Sadly Matt left the band around the time they were to record their second album due to battles with his mental health. A battle that sadly became too much for him, we found out, when Rough Trade posted this statement from his family. We send our love out to his friends, family and all who loved him and we send it to you too.

Take care of yourselves, check in with each other and do not hesitate to seek support with your mental health if you need to. These are difficult times, being a human is difficult and if we can deal with the darkness then we can celebrate and embrace the light.

I want to share with you a little anecdote about Matt in his formative years. When Black MIDI started rehearsing at ours when still in their teens, Nick and I used to lurk outside their studio listening to this glorious sound and tunes that we could not believe such young musicians were producing (or any musicians for that matter). Later on when Matt appeared from the studio and Nick asked him “Was that you making that noise in there?” Matt looked a little sheepish and said “yeah….sorry”. What a beautiful guy, he will be sorely missed.
