***CASTING CALL: The Paddington Bear Experience (Immersive) – GLOBAL MAJORITY CALLOUT for Performers to play MRS BROWN & MRS BIRD, EXPLORER, STATION MASTER, EXPLORER ASSISTANT & MR BROWN (Please see further character breakdowns below!)***

Gamepath are seeking global majority performers, to act in their new family-friendly London attraction, The Paddington Bear Experience, based out of County Hall.

All performers will learn two or more roles, as per the combinations outlined in the briefs. Performance-based front of house duties (in-character welcomes or ticket-checks) may also be required on a rotating basis. Light resetting duties will also be required between scenes and audience groups.

The experience is scripted and kept to a tight run-time. You will be expected to use your improvisational skills to suitably field any customer questions/interactions while keeping scenes to their set length.

Strong improvisation and hosting skills will be needed, to manage audience groups (up to 30 people at a time) through their journey and immersive experience is a plus.

You will lead a new audience group every 7-15 minutes with requisite break times accounted for. You will also be scheduled to alternate in a swing capacity.

The operation runs 7 days/week, with all actors guaranteed a designated rest day in their contracts. Working hours will normally fall between 8am and 8pm.

Please be advised performers are required to travel through backstage areas. Please only apply if you are comfortable with tight, low-light spaces.

Please also note that audiences will be allowed to take photos in parts of the experience and you will have to be comfortable having photos taken in character with members of the public.

**PLEASE NOTE: At this time we are only looking for performers from the global majority. Please only apply if you meet these criteria and you are available for an in-person audition on Tuesday the 20th February 2024.**

Production dates:

Initial contracts can be 4 or 8-month terms, with a paid rehearsal period in advance of the performance period. After initial contract, there is potential to extend at 4-month intervals, yet this is not guaranteed and will be reviewed based on the individuals’ performance, closer to the time.

Please note: there is no break-clause in the contracts and performers must see out their full contract term. Please consider this carefully if opting for an 8-month contract.

Character development days will take place week commencing 15th April 2024 and the rehearsal period will take place 29th April – 2nd June 2024 (inclusive). During the rehearsal period, performers are expected to be available Monday – Saturday working a guaranteed minimum 30 hours over 5 days per week.

The first 4-month performance period is 3rd June – 29th September 2024 (inclusive).

Please note there is a holiday embargo from start of character development up until (and including) 9th June 2024 – no requests for N/As will be accepted between these dates.

Contract info:

Rate of pay is £13.75/hour, plus standard pension contribution, holiday pay and SSP, as PAYE employees.

All contracts are based on minimum guaranteed hours over a set number of days, with additional hours available in peak periods.

There are guaranteed 5 days/per week (minimum 30 hour) and 2 days/per week (minimum 12 hour) contracts available.

5 day/week contracts must be available for shifts Monday-Sunday (Monday or Tuesday is a guaranteed rest day).

2 day/week contracts must be available for shifts Monday-Friday (Thursday is a guaranteed rest day). Additional weekend shifts may be available in peak periods.

Performers cast in this role will be required to play Mrs. Brown and Mrs. Bird on alternating days or weeks, or as per their rota.
Mrs. Brown is sweet, kind and sympathetic. She sees the best in most situations but that’s not to mean she is a walk over. She knows her own mind and isn’t afraid of standing up for herself. She is an artist and sees the world in full colour, every moment is an opportunity to seek enjoyment. Mrs. Brown is married to Mr. Brown. NSE (Neutral Standard English) accent required.
Mrs. Bird is practical, officious and no-nonsense in her approach to any problem. A kindly soul at heart but gets very cross when people take advantage of others. A great believer in the power of butter for getting things ‘unstuck’. Scottish accent required.

Mr. Brown is a bit of a worrier who likes things on time and in order. He has a good heart and is well intended but needs not worry so much as things usually have a way of working out. He is immensely grateful to Paddington and the joy he has brought to the Brown household and believes the family has truly blossomed since he moved in with them. A proud gardener who has lots of time for his prize marrows. NSE (Neutral Standard English) accent required.
The Explorer is enthusiastic, assertive and passionate about nature. Inquisitive and one for a challenge they rally the audience through challenges and guide them with various activities. Any accent.

The Stage and Company Management teams play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of Monopoly Lifesized. Collaborating closely with Front of House (FoH), they work diligently to guarantee the efficient ex*****on of the games. This dedicated team oversees a cast of 40, offering both operational support and pastoral care to ensure a well-rounded and successful
production.

Key Responsibilities:

• To provide effective management of all staff under the SM’s line management.
• Lead on the promotion of staff wellbeing for the stage management team, escalating to Company Manager (CM) and/or Associate General Manager (AGM) where appropriate.
• Oversee performance management, motivation, and discipline within the department, and conduct Stage Management performance reviews
• Work with the AGM and CM to interview and recruit suitable Stage Management team.
• Maintain a regular dialogue with the AGM to keep them in touch with matters concerning the live games.
• Ensure overtime is kept to a minimum and approved by the AGM if required.
• Produce the weekly Stage Management schedule, ensuring breaks, holidays and days off are accommodated.
• Generate the Stage Management team’s weekly timesheets, and cross-check invoices for submission to the AGM for payroll.
• Co-ordinate with FoH to manage the start of each game and ensure cast are ready to perform.
• Support the Performers, SM team and FoH team in any potentially conflicting situations on the boards – stepping in to de-escalate and/or knowing when to call Security (training provided).
• Communicate efficiently over radio to the SM team and FoH.
• Compile and distribute daily games reports.
• Compile incident reports as required.
• Manage the game rotas in the event of ASM or performer emergencies, such as illness.
• Oversee the maintenance of the boards (i.e. repairs/maintenance to props/set/scenery) when required, in conjunction with the Technical Stage Manager and Director of Venues.
• Oversee and manage the monthly props budget, providing a detailed breakdown of expenditure and receipts.
• Ensure games are operating within current health and safety regulations to maintain a safe environment (completing daily walk-arounds and producing risk assessments).
• Keep departmental paperwork up to date such as the props bible, risk assessments and ASM tracks.
• Cover for the Company Manager in their absence.
• Develop an understanding of FoH operations and where appropriate, cross train with the Venue Manager, to best support the management of audiences.
• Know all ASM tracks and cover in critical circumstances, such as staff illness.
• In emergency situations, this role may be required to covered Stage Management positions across other TPEG attractions, in London.
• To undertake any other duties as reasonably required.

Essential skills:

JOB VACANCY- Deputy Company Stage Manager (Monopoly Lifesized) | The Path Entertainment Group

The Stage and Company Management teams play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of Monopoly Lifesized. Collaborating closely with Front of House (FoH), they work diligently to guarantee the efficient ex*****on of the games. This dedicated team oversees a cast of 40, offering both operational support and pastoral care to ensure a well-rounded and successful production.

The Role:
As Deputy Company Manager (DCM): to deputise for the Company Manager (CM) on their 2 days off per week, and provide cover for CM sickness and holiday.

As Deputy Stage Manager (DSM): to support the Stage Manager in the daily running of operations 3 days a week.

As DCM DAY-TO-DAY DUTIES INCLUDE:-
• Act as the cast point of call for the day, taking all cast calls and updating the daily schedule as required.
• Edit and distribute the next day’s schedule and update cast timesheets.
• To provide effective management to all staff under the CM’s line management.
• Lead on the promotion of staff welfare and escalate to CM or GM where appropriate.
• Oversee performance management, motivation and discipline within the department.
• Update all holiday and sickness records, and any other administration duties as delegated by the CM.

AS DSM DAY-TO-DAY DUTIES INCLUDE-
• “Calling in” the live games and keeping the games to time according to the schedule.
• Oversee the smooth running of the live games, in conjunction with the SM and other DSM.
• Support the Performers, SM team and FoH team in any potentially conflicting situations on the boards – stepping in to de-escalate and/or knowing when to call Security (training provided).
• Communicate efficiently over radio to the SM team and FoH.
• Compile and distribute daily games reports.
• Compile incident reports as required.
• Manage the game rotas in the event of ASM or Performer emergencies, such as illness.
• Cover for the Stage Manager in their absence by updating and distributing the ASM rota.
• Know all ASM tracks and cover in emergency situations such as illness.
[Note: this attraction is time-coded and does not have a book, the DSM role is operational]

OTHER DUTIES INCLUDE:-
• Maintain a regular dialogue with the CM and keep them in touch with matters concerning the current games in performance and rehearsal when absent, and handover thoroughly.
• Perform the role of CM when the CM is on holiday; including producing the weekly cast schedule and submitting payroll.
• Help the CM organise rehearsals for new and/or current performers.
• Help the CM organise test games for new staff.
• To undertake any other duties as reasonably required.

This is a six month self-employed contract with SSP and holiday pay (only) for a guaranteed 40 hours per week paid at £631.50 per week. This consists of 18 Deputy Company Manager hours paid at a rate of £16.75 per hour, and 22 Deputy Stage Manager hours paid at a rate of £15.00 per hour. Holiday cover for the CM, at around 40 hours per week, paid at an additional rate.

The ideal start date is 12th February 2024.

JOB VACANCY- Wardrobe Assistant (Monopoly Lifesized)| The Path Entertainment Group

The Role: The Wardrobe Department looks after the maintenance of our individually tailored costumes for a cast that ranges between 35 – 40 people at Monopoly Lifesized.

This is a full-time position, 40 hours a week including weekend, based at Monopoly Lifesized, Tottenham Court.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deputise for the Deputy Head of Wardrobe in their absence.
• Daily maintenance of all costumes; efficient laundry and ironing skills.
• Assist/conduct costume fittings when required to do so.
• Take an active role in teaching new members of staff/deps when required to do so.
• Support team members.
• Help to maintain stock of consumable items.
• Have an extensive knowledge of costume construction and the ability to sew and alter garments.
• Assisting with the preparation and maintenance of all costumes and equipment required by the Wardrobe Department.
• Checking the actors’ costumes are neat and tidy before each game and assisting with hat and badge pinning where needed.
• To undertake any other duties as required.
• Comfortable with early starts (earliest 7:30) and late finishes (latest 23:00).
• Ability to work as part of a team, as well as individually.
• Ability to remain focused and calm when under pressure.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
