Laundry is a play based on a street in the East End of London in 1952. It was a time when the rich owned motorcars, two roads away from the poor, who washed their clothes with salt. As the characters try to keep face, the stains on their washing, hanging on the communal laundry line, reveal the secrets being kept behind
