BA(Hons)Ceramic Design is a course dedicated to the exploration of the use of ceramics as a means for artistic exploration and product design. The course extends to 3 years during which students are encouraged to explore the different possibilities and potential of designing and creating in clay a versatile medium that can serve many purposes and be used in various industries. It can be found through our every day life, from our teeth to the wheels of our cars, from our kitchen cupboard to the walls and mantle places of homes and galleries. The class of 2014 consists of 28 students, comprising 9 nationalities. We are brought together by our passion for making and we use our different backgrounds and cultures to help one another in a common goal - to make original and thought-provoking pieces of ceramic art and design. We hope that our works, and this show, will help push ceramic design a little closer to the limelight.
