The inaugural Xintiandi Fringe Festival landed in Shanghai from 6th to 19th June, featuring outdoor featuring outdoor performances, immersive theatres shows, circus acts and other creative projects. During the festival, WE were delighted to work with some of the most renowned performing art experts in China for the Innovative Performing Arts Festival Forum from 11th to 14th June. We helped bring together panelists from across the world in the forum to share their diverse experience in different aspects of the performing arts sector. In order to encourage the global conversation on this topic, we were also honoured to invite the representatives from Society of London theatre to Shanghai to present the “Laurence Olivier Awards 40th Anniversary Exhibition” and the Chinese premiere of “2016 Laurence Olivier Awards Ceremony”.

The Phantom of the Opera Drama Workshop

Event Time: 10am - 11am, 23rd June (Thursday)

Event Location: Prince of Wales theatre, Coventry St, London W1D 6AS

Summer is coming! It's time to move your body:)

WECC is inviting to you attend our The Phantom of the Opera Drama Workshop on 23rd June! It will be a perfect chance for you to immerse yourself of the world of the Phantom~

One of the most memorable sequence in The Phantom of the Opera is the opening masquearde ball scene in Act II. “People dress up to celebrate the dissappearance of the Phantom, whereas what they don't know, is that the Phantom, has already costumed as the Red Death and blended into the crowd. He seizes Christine's engagement ring and vanishes in a flash of fire and smoke. ”

During the workshop, coaches from Delfont Mackintosh Theatre Company (the production company of this wonderful musical), will lead you to re-enact this classical scene in The Phantom of the Opera.

This drama workshop will establish the scene by using mime techniques, therefore you don't need to remember any lines from the musical! Taught by professionals from Mackintosh, they will ease you into this splendid scene in Phantom!

There are only 15 places for this workshop. Trust me, It’s not a chance to be missed~
