Maurizio Pollini celebrates his 80th birthday with a recital this evening at Southbank Centre’s Royal Festival Hall, where he has given numerous performances over his illustrious career.

Part of the International Piano Series, Pollini’s recital brings together a personal selection of pieces by Schumann and Chopin, beginning with Schumann’s Arabesque and Fantasie in C and followed by Chopin’s Mazurka, Sonata No.2, Berceuse, and Polonaise.
