mA+ is the creation of numerous music heads from Leeds who want to bring a variety of sounds together on one night under one roof. We look to artists we love and who insipire us to provide the soundtrack to mA+ alongside exclusives from artists who may have not appeared either in Leeds before or for a while. We hold our monthly events at VOX but keep your eyes peeled for some one off events and venue changes!

I was still at primary school when there two records came out. I can’t remember exactly when I heard them but it’s difficult to overstate the influence they had on me.

In my first or second year in Leeds c1998, 808 State were one of the (if now the) first artists that I was involved in booking when I started organising events. Even then, it was difficult to comprehend that I was speaking to THE 808 State.

Over two years ago, I reached out to Charles Webster to see if he had new material. He was in the process of finishing an album. Having been a fan since way back, this was massive news.

Today, I’m proud to be announcing the first single ‘The Spell’, featuring a Burial remix on and including spoken word lyrics from Ingrid Chavez, Prince collaborator & writer for Madonna.
