Our choir runs because of the incredible work of all our amazing volunteers. This Volunteers’ Week we are celebrating our hard working Voice Part Liaisons.

Muriel, our Alto Liaison says:

Before becoming a volunteer myself, I was always tremendously grateful for the smooth running of choir rehearsals and concerts. I really admired the professionalism and dedication that it takes to organise so many singers, concerts, finances, the governance, stakeholder relationships etc.

So much so, that I decided to become a volunteer myself, and give something back to the choir that has given me so much, over the years!

I have not regretted that decision one minute and so far am really enjoying the behind-the-scenes camaraderie and satisfaction you get, after another big project has come off successfully. Such a pleasure!

We have had a wonderful open rehearsal tonight and were so lucky to be able to sing a piece by our very own, Alto and Concert Manager, Natasha Sofla. My River uses the poem My River Runs To Thee by Emily Dickinson.

For those of you who might wonder why you never see us singing in the Royal Festival Hall with the londonphilharmonicorchestra in the summer months, the reason is simple – and glorious. From the 21st May to 30th August our beloved orchestra is playing away down in deepest mid-Sussex in the gorgeous opera house that is Glyndebourne.
