27 degrees is a multicultural collective of artists who create sensory audience experiences in unusual spaces. We believe the arts should not just take place behind the closed doors of theatre’s, and all a theatre company needs is a solid suitcase and a sense of adventure. We perform in lifts, public spaces, muse

ums, creepy basements, or in the middle of woods. Our work interweaves theatre with music, circus, dance, puppetry and installation to create immersive and sensory journeys that appeal to the widest possible audiences. With an artistic voice that is both visual and physical, we revisit traditional stories that resonate with the contemporary world. We don’t believe that theatre will change the world, but like the hummingbird, we will still work on it, one show at a time.

In our new immersive show for families, the adventure begins the moment you’re assigned your planet of origin. After all, we don’t exactly get to choose where we’re born, do we?

So, which planet would you rather call home?

Sorbiter - a low-gravity giant with the best ice lollies.
Paprikus - fiery, fun, and full of lava pools perfect for barbecues.
Silvero - the coolest planet around, with skating in asteroids’ craters.
Greenury - the galaxy’s most biodiverse world, alive with friendly, blobby wildlife.

And just like that, 2026 is upon us.

Looking back on 2025, we’re feeling incredibly grateful. As theatre-maker mums, it hasn’t been easy to make art and keep creating work in a world where funding is scarce and the industry isn’t built to support parent-artists. After years of navigating that reality, it was a real joy to bring our first family show, Checkpoint Universe, into the world.

As we move into 2026, we’re excited to continue developing the show and celebrating migration stories through play and space travel.
Theatre matters — and these stories matter — especially for children and young people who are so often deprived of access to it. We truly believe live theatre is needed now more than ever, and we hope to share Checkpoint Universe with as many audiences, venues, and classrooms as possible.

We are currently planning our Autumn 2026 tour, so if you’re interested in hosting performances in your school or venue, message us and we’ll send you a tour pack.

Check out the beautiful shots from the R&D of our brand-new family show.

Checkpoint Universe is an immersive show that transports children on an intergalactic journey through art and storytelling, exploring the experience of finding a new home. Blending theatre, games, puppetry and lots of laughs, this show is designed to spark curiosity, empathy and open up important and thoughtful family conversations about migration.

We will be developing the show in 2026, so watch this space...

Hello from us at 27 Degrees

We don’t often show our faces, but here we are — Chusi from Peru, Marie from Belgium, and Dajana from Croatia.

Though we come from different corners of the world, the UK has become our shared home. To us, “home” isn’t just one place — it can be many places, and it can mean many things.

Our collaboration began with a shared passion for immersive theatre, which led us to form our theatre company 27 degrees. Since then, we have continued to create innovative, playful work that places audiences at the heart of the experience. Alongside our artistic journey, we have also embraced motherhood, an experience that has transformed our perspective and practice.

We’ve recently completed the R&D phase of our very first family show, Checkpoint Universe, which explores migration stories through the joys and dangers of space travel. At a time where new narratives around migration are desperately needed, our ambition is to bring this production into communities and schools, opening imaginative spaces that inspire connection and curiosity.

We are so excited about the next steps, so watch this space!

CASTING CALL – Checkpoint Universe R&D
PAID (£175/day)
5 Days Total – 3 Rehearsals + 2 Sharing Days

We are seeking two collaborative, imaginative performers to join the R&D phase of Checkpoint Universe - a vibrant, multidisciplinary family immersive theatre production in development. This will be a 5-day process (3 rehearsal days + 2 sharing/presentation days), focused on developing characters, story, and performance language. We are building a team where creative input is welcomed and encouraged.

Tuesday 16th September - 10-5pm - Jacksons Lane - sharing
Wednesday 17th September - 10-5pm - School in Islington - sharing

Fee: £175/day (£875 total)

🚀 We’re thrilled to announce that 27degrees’ new project, Checkpoint Universe (working title), has been awarded funding for R&D.

It’s been a while since we’ve been in the rehearsal room, and we couldn’t be more excited to return – this time to create something truly special: an immersive show for families!

This marks a big first for us – our first project of this kind since becoming mums – and we’re beyond excited to collaborate with an incredible team of artists to bring it to life.

Checkpoint Universe will explore migration stories through the lens of space travel – blending play, science fiction, and real-world themes to spark young imaginations. 🌍✨
