Since it began in Brighton, UK, in 2013 as a flash-mob by Kate Bush tribute troupe Shambush!, this joyful global event has grown into a worldwide celebration. Every year, fans in red dresses unite to dance to Kate’s iconic 1978 hit, “Wuthering Heights”.
From Edinburgh and Copenhagen to Berlin and Montreal, in the years since it started, Wuthering Day has inspired people around the world to get together in their shared love of music, dance and having a good time. Many of the events raise money for charity. Last year, Wutherers even made a pilgrimage to the Yorkshire Moors that were the setting for Emily Bronte’s classic novel, on which the song is based.
After three successful years of staging the event in Guildford, on Saturday, 18 July, we’re bringing it to the wily, windy moors of the Italian Club in Middle Swan, so you can be part of this global flash mob. It’s fun, inclusive, energetic and supports the Australian Lung Foundation in honour of Chris Cocozza. Donate to Dance and join in the celebration.
All ages and abilities welcome. Spectators too!
Keep following our page for updates as we’re getting CLOSER and CLOSER to Wuther!
Let’s make it the most Wuthering Day ever!
