Raised in Huntingdon, U.K.......Born in Soltau, Germany with Jamaican & American descent Kyla has a great sense of universal culture.
As a child, her dream was to become a singer & have her name at the top of the Billboard charts, this childhood dream persisted and transformed into her adulthood ambition & occupation.
Whilst growing up in Huntingdon does not provide the sort of opportunities that one may seek to find in London or any other major city, Kyla maintained her aspirations & started to record and release her own music independently, with her first song โBe What You Wanna Beโ being broadcasted on Channel U.
After the success of Do You Mind, Kyla continued to release a
n array of music with production from the likes of Crazy Cousinz, DJ Kent, Reel Soul, DJ Paleface, Sticky & with artists such as Wiley & Bashy to name a few.
Fast forward to 2016, Drake samples โDo You Mindโ and releases โOne Danceโ reaching number one in 33 countries. Kyla signed to Virgin Records.
After โOne Danceโ spent 15 consecutive weeks in the UK charts and over 10 weeks in the Billboard chart Kyla went on to win 3 Billboard awards, a Peopleโs choice award, set a world record for the first song to reach a billion streams on Spotify amongst other things.
Since 2016 Kyla has worked with many musicians including the likes of Stargate, Dianne Warren, Big Sean and has released songs with the likes of Naughty Boy op Caan, Ill Blu and the Late Andrea Martin.
