body//archives is now live. 🪽
12 artists: @anna.alexia.papadopoulou , Melanija Ilguna and Despoina Mykoniati responded to Artit’s July 2025 open call with works that explore the body as record, as residue, as remembering.

Some approached embodiment as document. Others as ritual. Others as resistance, intimacy, trauma, or transformation, leading to a collection of works held together by the question: What stories does your body hold that your mind has forgotten?

From CVs printed on skin to ritual processions with clay votives, from brass scars worn as jewelry to performance spaces that barely contain the body within—these artists reveal flesh as both vulnerable archive and active agent of survival.

We’re proud to announce Maggie Shafran ( ) as ARTIT’s Jury Selection Floral Artist of the Year 2024! 🌸

A special thank you to our jury — , , , , — for thoughtfully reviewing submissions and selecting Maggie for this year’s honour.

✨ Working at the intersection of memory, beauty, and decay, Maggie Shafran’s Fragments series reinterprets 18th-century Dutch still lifes through acts of close observation, drawing, stitching, and subtle disruption. Inspired by artists like Jan van Huysum, her work explores the fragile tension between preservation and loss — capturing fleeting floral moments with a quiet intimacy and a sharp conceptual edge.
This award celebrates Maggie’s powerful voice within contemporary floral painting and the layered storytelling at the heart of her practice.
