He took the world to church and challenged all to elevate up a new plane in which all men were equal in their essence. Powerful words from the great Dr. King 👑. His timing and pronunciation is giving me life! He’s embodiment of taking up space ❤️, one powerful acceptance speech by Brother Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. 🙏 A peaceful man in speech; eloquent, calmly paced. Spiritually grounded and not shaken by adversity. #2026

Why are African artists still so often left out of the global story of modern art?⁣

At Tate Modern in London, tour guide Nadia Denton is working to change that with what she calls “a voyage of discovery”.⁣

Her free ‘African Modernism & Afro-Surrealism’ tour spotlights artists of African descent, challenges old colonial narratives, and opens up conversations about identity, history and belonging inside the gallery space.⁣

Flight of Fancy:

A moment held between intention and consequence.
Neither ascent nor fall, but the fragile space where ambition pauses and balance is tested.

Iron with rustic finish or bronze with Verdigris finish

Part of the States of Ascent series.

Flight here is not escape, but restraint —
a quiet negotiation between desire and gravity.

Echo of Icarus marks an important point in my ongoing exploration of humanity, balance, and transcendence.
The piece reflects on flight beyond myth — not the moment of falling, but what remains after: resilience, restraint, and the will to continue. Its weathered bronze surface speaks of time, memory, and renewal, grounding the work in both material and meaning.

CONSOLING:
In the silence of a forgotten age, there were two sisters born of a god whose realm was the wind and the hidden echoes of the earth. They were known for their constant, rhythmic whispering—a sound that mortals mistook for the rustle of leaves or the sighing of the sea.
The Secret and the Weight
While the world saw their closeness as a blessing, the sisters carried a burden. They were tasked with hearing the private sorrows of all living things. As the centuries passed, the weight of these secrets began to weather their spirits, just as the elements wear down the mountains. Their father, seeing their exhaustion, did not punish them with malice, but with a strange, stony mercy.
He fused their forms together at the base, anchoring them to the earth so they would never have to stand alone against the gale of the world's grief.
The Act of Consoling
The sculpture "Consoling" captures the exact moment this transformation became eternal.
The Embrace: One sister reaches out, her arm draped heavily and protectively across the other’s shoulder, a gesture of grounding and absolute presence.
The Shared Breath: Their heads, flattened by the pressure of time, lean inward until they almost touch. They are no longer gossiping or whispering secrets; they are sharing a single, quiet breath of reassurance.
The Weathered Skin: The rough, oxidized texture of the bronze represents the "scars" of their empathy—the deep green and brown patina of a life lived in the service of others’ emotions.
The Eternal Watch
Now, they stand as a monument to the quiet power of being seen and heard. They are the "Whispering Sisters" no longer in a way that implies mischief, but
