Two powerhouse bands. One unforgettable stage.
A spectacular collaboration between Chris Dean’s Syd Lawrence Orchestra and the Oceanaires Big Band of the Royal Marines delivered what can only be described as the WORLD’S BIGGEST BIG BAND SHOW! 🇬🇧🎶

Wall-to-wall music, breathtaking solos, precision, power and passion… and the audience response said it all — standing ovations, cheers, whistles and huge smiles from start to finish! 👏👏👏

From explosive swing classics to spine-tingling ballads, this was big band music at its absolute best. The sheer wall of sound from these incredible musicians was something truly special , the kind of night that reminds you why live music matters.

Massive congratulations to every musician involved for creating such an electric atmosphere and a performance nobody will forget in a hurry.

There are some weekends in the calendar that musicians genuinely look forward to all year…

And for all of us in the Syd Lawrence Orchestra, the Littlecote House weekend at Warner Hotels - Littlecote House is one of those very special occasions.

Of course, we love performing the music. We love the sound of the brass section lifting the roof, the saxophones singing through those beautiful melodies, and the excitement of bringing these incredible arrangements to life night after night.

But what makes this weekend truly special is you.

The people.

Over the years, this weekend has become far more than just another engagement for the orchestra. It feels like a reunion of friends who all share the same love of music, fun, dancing, and atmosphere.

As musicians, we notice everything from the stage.

We see couples holding hands as “Moonlight Serenade” begins.We see friends laughing together at the bar after the show. We see people dancing in the aisles who told us earlier they “weren’t going to dance this year.”We hear audience members say:“I haven’t smiled this much in ages.”“This is what live music should feel like.”“We wait all year for this weekend.”“You can’t watch this band and not feel happy.”

And honestly… that means everything to us.

In today’s world, where so much entertainment feels rushed or disconnected, there’s something wonderfully real about spending an entire weekend surrounded by live music and people simply enjoying themselves together.

We love seeing familiar faces returning year after year. We love chatting over breakfast or after the shows. We love hearing your stories and memories connected to the music. And we love that for a few days, everybody leaves the outside world behind and simply enjoys the moment.
