Allah ﷻ reminds us:

“It is not for a believing man or woman, when Allah and His Messenger have decided a matter, to have any choice in that matter. And whoever disobeys Allah and His Messenger has clearly gone astray.” (Al-Ahzab 33:36)

We willingly change our habits to protect our health. But true faith requires us to change our hearts, our tongues, and our actions to please our Creator.

Let us not only fear illness—let us fear standing before Allah with the rights of others upon us.

May Allah grant us the strength to obey His commands, honour the rights of people, and purify our hearts. Ameen.

Alhamdulillah, Allah has blessed us to witness another Islamic year. As we enter Muharram, one of the four sacred months, let us begin the year with sincere tawbah, gratitude, and renewed commitment to Allah.

Some Sunnahs and recommended actions:
• Increase in voluntary fasting, especially during Muharram.
• Fast on the Day of Ashura (10th Muharram), and preferably also the 9th or 11th Muharram.
• The Prophet ﷺ said regarding the fast of Ashura: “I hope from Allah that it expiates the sins of the previous year.” (Muslim)
• Increase in dhikr, Qur’an recitation, dua, and charity.
• Reflect on the passing year and make sincere intentions for the year ahead.

The Prophet ﷺ also said:
“The best fasting after Ramadan is the fasting of Allah’s month, Muharram.” (Muslim)

Allahumma ahillahu ’alayna bil-yumni wal-iman, was-salamati wal-Islam, wat-tawfiqi lima tuhibbu wa tarda, Rabbuna wa Rabbuk Allah.

Meaning:
“O Allah, bring this moon upon us with blessings, faith, safety, and Islam, and grant us success in that which You love and are pleased with. Our Lord and your Lord is Allah.”

May Allah make this new month and the new year 1448 AH a source of barakah, guidance, forgiveness, and nearness to Him for us all. Ameen.

𝐀 𝐑𝐞𝐟𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐇𝐢𝐣𝐫𝐢 𝐂𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐫

Why does the Hijri year begin with Muharram—a month associated with the establishment of the Islamic calendar under Umar ibn al-Khattab (RA) and later marked by the martyrdom of Husayn ibn Ali (RA) yet end with Dhul-Hijjah, the month that commemorates the immense sacrifice and devotion of Ibrahim and Ismail (AS)?

What wisdom might lie in a year that begins with the memory of steadfastness, sacrifice, and truth, and concludes with the legacy of complete submission and devotion to Allah?

Is it a reminder that the journey of a believer starts with commitment to the truth and ends with sincere sacrifice for the sake of Allah?

A thought worth reflecting upon.

The Wealth That Buried Its Owner!!!

When Qarun’s (KARUN) people advised him, “Don’t be arrogant. Allah does not love those who are arrogant. And use what Allah has given you to seek success in the Hereafter,” Qarun replied, “I have only been given all of this because of my own knowledge and ability.” (Surah Al-Qasas 28:77–78)

SubhanAllah, how often do we fall into the same way of thinking today?

When we look at our degrees, careers, businesses, or wealth and think, “I achieved this through my own talent, hard work, and intelligence,” while becoming reluctant to give zakah, support good causes, or help those in need, we are echoing the very mindset that destroyed Qarun.

The reality is that our abilities, opportunities, health, intelligence, and success are all gifts from Allah. We may work hard, but even the ability to work hard is a blessing from Him.

Qarun’s wealth did not save him. His riches could not protect him. In the end, Allah caused the earth to swallow him and his treasures, and he found no one to help him. (Surah Al-Qasas 28:81–82)

May Allah protect us from arrogance, fill our hearts with gratitude, and enable us to use His blessings in a way that earns His pleasure and success in the Hereafter.

In Surah Al-Falaq, Allah teaches us to seek refuge from three external dangers through just one attribute of Allah: Rabb (The Lord).

1. The evil of the darkness when it settles.
2. The evil of those who practice sorcery.
3. The evil of the envier when he envies.

Despite these three dangers, Allah commands us to seek protection through only one divine attribute:

قُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ الْفَلَقِ
“Say: I seek refuge in the Lord of Daybreak.”

𝙔𝙚𝙩 𝙞𝙣 𝙎𝙪𝙧𝙖𝙝 𝘼𝙣-𝙉𝙖𝙨, 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙚 𝙞𝙨 𝙤𝙣𝙡𝙮 𝙤𝙣𝙚 𝙙𝙖𝙣𝙜𝙚𝙧:

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐡𝐢𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐲𝐭𝐚𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐩𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞.

But for this single danger, Allah teaches us to seek refuge through three attributes:

رَبِّ النَّاسِ — The Lord of mankind
مَلِكِ النَّاسِ — The King of mankind
إِلَٰهِ النَّاسِ — The God of mankind

🆆🅷🆈?

Because no worldly harm is greater than spiritual harm. Darkness, envy, and even sorcery may affect a person’s worldly life, but Shaytan’s whispers target something far more precious—faith itself.

He gradually weakens the heart, corrupts actions, and seeks to distance people from Allah. Therefore, Allah teaches us to seek refuge through His most comprehensive attributes: His lordship, His sovereignty, and His exclusive right to be worshipped.

The precision and depth of the Qur’an’s language are truly remarkable.

Recite Surah Al-Falaq and Surah An-Nas every morning and evening, after every Fard Salah, and before sleeping. By Allah’s permission, they are a powerful shield against every harm—seen and unseen.

𝐘𝐨𝐮’𝐫𝐞 𝐏𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐚 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐖𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐍𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐌𝐞𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐲!

Allah (SWT) opens Surah At-Takathur with a devastating diagnosis:

“The obsession for more has distracted you…” until you reach the grave.

Then Allah uses a word that should shake every heart:

"Zurtum - زرتم " you visited.

Not settled. Not remained. Not belonged.

Visited.

𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙜𝙧𝙖𝙫𝙚 𝙞𝙨 𝙣𝙤𝙩 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙛𝙞𝙣𝙖𝙡 𝙝𝙤𝙢𝙚. 𝙄𝙩 𝙞𝙨 𝙖 𝙩𝙧𝙖𝙣𝙨𝙞𝙩 𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣, 𝙖 𝙬𝙖𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙧𝙤𝙤𝙢 𝙗𝙚𝙛𝙤𝙧𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙡 𝙟𝙤𝙪𝙧𝙣𝙚𝙮 𝙗𝙚𝙜𝙞𝙣𝙨. 𝙔𝙚𝙩 𝙢𝙖𝙣𝙮 𝙨𝙥𝙚𝙣𝙙 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙞𝙧 𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙞𝙧𝙚 𝙡𝙞𝙫𝙚𝙨 𝙥𝙧𝙚𝙥𝙖𝙧𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙖 𝙨𝙩𝙤𝙥 𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙣 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙙𝙚𝙨𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣.

Takathur is not merely about wealth. It is a disease of the soul — the relentless craving to have more, be more, and appear greater than others.

“More than him. Better than her. Greater than them.”

It is a race with no finish line and a hunger that is never satisfied. And Allah (SWT) warns us that this obsession can bury a person spiritually long before they enter the grave physically.

The moment you are lowered into that grave, your status loses its value. Your salary becomes meaningless. Your titles turn to dust.

Then comes the question that truly matters:

“I gave you time. I gave you strength. I gave you blessings. What did you do with them?”

Many have boarded the wrong train. It may be comfortable. It may look impressive. But it is not taking them where they were meant to go.

🕰️ Farewell 1447 AH – A Year Gone Forever

As we bid farewell to 1447 AH and welcome 1448 AH, let us remember:

يَا ابْنَ آدَمَ، إِنَّمَا أَنْتَ أَيَّامٌ، فَإِذَا ذَهَبَ يَوْمٌ ذَهَبَ بَعْضُكَ

“O son of Adam, your life is but a collection of days. Whenever a day passes, a part of your life passes away.” (Al-Hasan al-Basri رحمه الله)

A year has passed. A portion of our lives has gone and will never return.

As the blessed month of Muharram begins, let us renew our tawbah, increase our worship, cherish our time, and draw closer to Allah.

✨ Don’t just celebrate a New Year—prepare for your meeting with Allah.

🤲 May Allah forgive our shortcomings, accept our deeds, and make 1448 AH a year of faith, guidance, barakah, and steadfastness.

𝐅𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐰𝐞𝐥𝐥 𝟏𝟒𝟒𝟕 𝐀𝐇: 𝐌𝐲 𝐑𝐞𝐟𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬

Life is nothing more than a collection of moments. When time comes to an end, life itself comes to an end. Every passing day, every hour, and every minute brings us one step closer to our meeting with Allah.

As 1447 AH bids us farewell and 1448 AH dawns upon us, we are reminded of a profound reality: time waits for no one. Whether we invest it wisely or squander it heedlessly, it continues its journey uninterrupted. It neither slows down nor pauses for anyone.

Allah, the Most High, says:

“By time, indeed mankind is in loss, except those who believe, perform righteous deeds, encourage one another to the truth, and encourage one another to patience.”
(Surah Al-’Asr 103:1–3)

𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝒅𝒆𝒑𝒂𝒓𝒕𝒖𝒓𝒆 𝒐𝒇 𝒂 𝒚𝒆𝒂𝒓 𝒊𝒔 𝒏𝒐𝒕 𝒎𝒆𝒓𝒆𝒍𝒚 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒕𝒖𝒓𝒏𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒐𝒇 𝒂 𝒑𝒂𝒈𝒆 𝒐𝒏 𝒂 𝒄𝒂𝒍𝒆𝒏𝒅𝒂𝒓. 𝑰𝒕 𝒊𝒔 𝒂 𝒓𝒆𝒎𝒊𝒏𝒅𝒆𝒓 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒂 𝒑𝒐𝒓𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝒐𝒇 𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒍𝒊𝒗𝒆𝒔 𝒉𝒂𝒔 𝒈𝒐𝒏𝒆 𝒇𝒐𝒓𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒓—𝒏𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒓 𝒕𝒐 𝒓𝒆𝒕𝒖𝒓𝒏. 𝑾𝒊𝒕𝒉 𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒚 𝒑𝒂𝒔𝒔𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒚𝒆𝒂𝒓, 𝒄𝒐𝒖𝒏𝒕𝒍𝒆𝒔𝒔 𝒐𝒑𝒑𝒐𝒓𝒕𝒖𝒏𝒊𝒕𝒊𝒆𝒔 𝒍𝒆𝒂𝒗𝒆 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉 𝒊𝒕, 𝒐𝒑𝒑𝒐𝒓𝒕𝒖𝒏𝒊𝒕𝒊𝒆𝒔 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒄𝒂𝒏 𝒏𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒓 𝒃𝒆 𝒓𝒆𝒄𝒍𝒂𝒊𝒎𝒆𝒅.

Time is like a burning candle. It continues to melt away whether people benefit from its light or ignore it. The candle does not concern itself with who benefits; it simply continues to burn until it is extinguished. Likewise, our lives are steadily diminishing with every breath we take. The wise person is the one who takes advantage of the light before the flame goes out.

The early scholars would say:
اَلْوَقْتُ أَنْفَسُ مِنَ الذَّهَبِ
“Time is more precious than gold.”

And Al-Hasan Al-Basri رحمه الله said:
يَا ابْنَ آدَمَ، إِنَّمَا أَنْتَ أَيَّامٌ، فَإِذَا ذَهَبَ يَوْمٌ ذَهَبَ بَعْضُكَ
“𝐎 𝐬𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐀𝐝𝐚𝐦, 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐧𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐛𝐮𝐭 𝐚 𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐝𝐚𝐲𝐬; 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐚 𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐩𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐬, 𝐚 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐩𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐲.”

As we enter the new Hijri year, let us pause and reflect upon our relationship with Allah. Let us renew our tawbah, increase our worship, strengthen our connection with the Qur’an, and strive to fill our remaining days with deeds that will benefit us in the Hereafter.

True success is not measured by how many years we live, but by how much faith, sincerity, obedience, and beneficial action we place within those years.

May Allah bless our time, forgive our shortcomings, accept our deeds, and make 1448 AH a year filled with īmān, guidance, worship, barakah, and steadfastness upon His path. Āmīn.

A little becomes much when you are content.

Much becomes little when you are greedy.

The distant becomes near through love,

and the near becomes distant through hatred.

Plant goodness in your heart,

carry love within your soul,

and be content with what Allah has apportioned for you.

Then you will find happiness in this world and success in the Hereafter.

Contentment brings peace.
Love builds bridges.
Trust in Allah brings tranquility.
