Thank you to all the lovely people who came out on a boiling bank holiday to see What Are You Waiting For - the second immersive exhibition in the WANDER / WONDER series inside the Old Waiting Room at Peckham Rye station.

I had the absolute pleasure of collaborating with the sublime who created a playful collection of sculptural chairs out of single use plastic and recycled materials.

The third and final in the series will be Sunday July 26. Opening it up to a range of artists and will be posting a call for art soon 💫💫💫

Happy bank holiday Friday ☀️☀️☀️

If you’re out and about on Sunday please join me and at the Old Waiting Room next to Peckham Rye Station on Sunday for a joyful immersive exhibition inspired by the Dr Seuss poem ‘Oh the Places You’ll Go’ 💫

The show looks at ‘waiting’ not as wasted time but a space for transformation.

We’ll have a station for making mini dream boards - so kids of all ages welcome.

Hope to see you there 🩵🩵

WANDER / WONDER began with this painting. A loading circle. The kind we stare at every day waiting for something to happen.

Back in January, I was in a slightly catatonic state. I had that insatiable urge to create but felt stuck. One morning, I found this beautiful handmade wooden frame abandoned on the street. Without a plan, I painted it and covered the edges in clay that slowly sagged and cracked like melting ice, mirroring my own feeling of stagnation. I added a loading circle without knowing why.

But the more I worked and reworked it, the more something started to unlock.

It made me think about waiting differently. What if waiting isn’t passive? What if it’s actually a period to wander before you wonder. To drift, process, notice, unravel, reconnect. A subconscious state where thoughts, memories, fears, desires, and possibilities quietly rearrange themselves before action becomes possible.

Creation isn’t always conscious.

The project grew from that idea that waiting is not empty or wasted time, but a hidden state of transformation.

Please join me and for our upcoming playful exhibition What Are You Waiting For?

What Are You Waiting For?

A one-day immersive poem and collective art making experience featuring artist in collaboration with Everything You See Here 💫

We spend so much of our lives waiting. Holding our breath in between becoming the next version of ourselves, waiting for permission to begin, for the fear to pass, for the moment to feel right. Like the time in between doesn’t count.

But what if waiting isn’t procrastination or stagnancy or delay but incubation? The quiet before something becomes possible.

Part of the Wander / Wonder series at the Old Waiting Room in Peckham, this gathering is an invitation to activate your time. To transform waiting into wonder.

Thank you .nathanson for collaborating with me on this commission 💚

This piece is part of my ongoing This Must Be No Place series – a meditation on the temporality of home and an homage to the Talking Heads song This Must Be the Place. Each piece is an archived Google Earth satellite image printed on diaphanous cloth, embroidered with a lyric or verse held in the sonic memory from that moment in time.

Home is a delicate microcosm where we feel safe, protected, possible. But it’s not a place, it’s an imaginary that exists in the space between dreams and memory. When circumstances align, our home becomes a personal utopia (literally translated as ‘no place’).

It’s a reflection of the sacred memories we hold of the places that shape us. It’s also a love letter to homes that were a moment in time. Temporary, but no less significant.

What if people were places?
What if paintings were flags?
What if books were passports?
What if memories were maps?

Early in my research, I discovered the writings of Édouard Glissant who has hugely influenced my developing perspective on identity, home and belonging. His philosophy of ‘trembling thinking’ is about challenging fixed ideas and reimagining possibilities for positive change within the context of our collective uncertainty.

“What’s past is prologue”

The Central Saint Martins postgrad degree show is a wrap. I’m dizzy with bittersweet euphoria.

Grateful for my experience, for the support of loving friends and family, for the curiosity of visitors, and for being part of this radically talented community.

Looking forward to what’s next ✌🏼
