The T.Rex Action Group CIC (TAG CIC) are the legal guardians via an in-perpetuity lease on the site known ubiquitously as Marc Bolan's Rock Shrine. TAG was founded in 1999 before becoming a CIC (not-for-profit Community Interest Company) in 2021. ot only of Marc Bolan & T.Rex fans, but also local residents, in the Barnes, Putney and wider London Borough of Richmond-Upon-Thames. We do this by working with the local community because their input is essential. HOW TO GET TO MARC'S SHRINE:-

BY BUS FROM HAMMERSMITH BUS STATION:
The 33 bus from Hammersmith Bus Station. Then simply walk up Queen's Ride and you will see the shrine on your right. Get off at Barnes Station. Walk down Rock's Lane. Turn left at the traffic lights into Queen's Ride, and again the Shrine will come up on the right. BY BUS FROM NEAR CLAPHAM JUNCTION TUBE STATION
The 337 runs towards Richmond. Ask the driver to let you off at Gipsy Lane. You will get off in Upper Richmond Road West just a few yards (metres) from Gipsy Lane. Walk along Gipsy Lane proper, until a side branch lane appears on your left. This is signposted "private road for the residents of 8 to 11 Gipsy Lane". Walk along this and Marc's Shrine will be along on the right. BY TRAIN:
From Waterloo to Barnes Rail Station takes 18 to 20 minutes. A short walk down the station steps and under the tunnel will lead you down Rock's Lane. Turn left at the traffic lights into Queen's Ride. At the Train station do not follow the signs "To Barnes", but walk the opposite way as the signs 'To Barnes' will take you to Barnes Village. PLEASE NOTE. The Underground All Day 'All Zones' day tickets can be used on Buses, Trains to Barnes as well as the Underground. You buy one and can then use any of the public transport options listed here! BY TUBE: The nearest Tube is East Putney. BE WARNED:- London Buses no longer accept cash, but if you get one of the All Day All Zone Travel Cards for the Underground you don't need anything else. Easy! Be aware that 'Mini-Cabs' often used the name 'Taxi' but unlike REAL Hackney Cab Taxis, these 'Mini-Cab' drivers don't need to know ANY sites. All they need is a driving licence and an ap on their phone to go to and from post codes. Real Hackney Cab Taxis have the knowledge and won't take you round five sides of a triangle to get you there.
