Unearthed closes this Sunday so it’s your last chance to see ‘Pollinator Pathmaker: British Library Edition’ video installation.

“This video installation, commissioned for this exhibition, depicts an unrealised Pollinator Pathmaker edition intended for the British Library’s piazza on Euston Road. Here, visitors experience the edition as a virtual garden composed of the artist’s digital paintings of each plant species the algorithm has selected from the Atlantic Europe plant palette. Seen from the perspective of a foraging insect, rather than from the top-down view of a human, we glide through this otherworldly space where the colouring flips between human view and the artist’s ‘pollinator vision’ filter, changing our perspective.”

'More Than Human' opened today , where you can experience my latest tapestry commission.

'Pollinator Pathmaker: Perceptual Field 7SzzLn6GnY97DSo7hCSLMf' is an 8-metre mixed fibre (wool, cotton, acrylic, polyester cotton, cashmere) tapestry. It envisions what pollinators could experience if the Design Museum were to plant my proposition for a living artwork edition in the forecourt.

It’s the final week to see the inaugural Pollinator Pathmaker fine art pigment prints I made for the touring exhibition ‘Garden Futures’ at in Rotterdam.

On view until 13 April, the exhibition explores the history and future of the modern garden: “Gardens reflect identities, dreams, and visions. Deeply rooted in their culture, they can unfold immense symbolic potential. The recent revival of horticulture has focused less on the garden as a romantic refuge than as a place where concepts of social justice, biodiversity, and sustainability can be tried and tested. Gardens have become places of the avantgarde.“

Machine Auguries opens , Umeå today!

Very excited to be showing both the London and Toledo editions of my site-specific immersive sound and light installation for my first Swedish exhibition. This will be the first time you can experience both editions. And from January 2025 they'll be joined by a newly commissioned Umeå edition.

🟦 🟦 🟦

With AI-generated birdsong under an artificial dawn sky, 'Machine Auguries' warns of our infatuation with technology at the expense of nature. Using thousands of field recordings of local and migratory birds, I trained a pair of neural networks to sing like these different bird species. When the chorus falls silent at the end of the work, we are no longer sure what is real.

The exhibition is produced by Bildmuseet and curated by Sarah Cook. With support from Kempestiftelserna, the Arctic Centre at Umeå University and WASP-HS. Special thanks to the Cornell Lab of Ornithology | Macaulay Library.
