Making in 3D: WM College Showcase Working Men’s College Students and Staff
7-10 October 2026
12-5pm Daily

An exhibition of 3D art and craft showcasing work by adult learners and tutors from WM College. Bringing together ceramics, sculpture, jewellery, glass art, woodwork, and mosaic, the exhibition highlights the breadth of contemporary making practices taught at the college. Each piece reflects a unique exploration of materials, processes, and ideas, offering insight into the creative journeys of both emerging and experienced makers.

The exhibition provides an opportunity for visitors to engage with a diverse range of approaches to form, surface, and structure, while discovering connections across disciplines. It also celebrates the achievements of the college’s creative community, inviting friends, family, and the wider public to experience the innovation and technical skill developed through adult learning. Through this shared space, the event encourages conversation, inspiration, and a deeper appreciation of making in three dimensions.

THE CRYPT GALLERY & MAKE POETRY WEIRD AGAIN PRESENT HOLD SPACE POETRY FESTIVAL: FROM THE DEPTHS 1 to 5 October 2026

Part of Bloomsbury Festival 2026.

Twelve resident poets have the run of the space for five days. They are writing in it, recording in it, and performing work in the evening that did not exist that morning. The residency is not a retreat. It is an exposure. Prompts are given daily. Bring a notebook and the stone will do the rest. A collective zine is built page by page across the week, risograph printed in two colours, and given away free at the closing on Monday 5 October. The podcast records live in the crypt through the week.

MATTER
19-28 September
Open: 11.30am-6.30pm daily
Private view: Saturday 19 September 6-9pm

MATTER brings together the sculptural practices of Jason Mulligan, Guy Stevens and Paul Vanstone in an exploration of material, form, and the enduring language of stone.
The exhibition unfolds through three distinct sculptural voices — imagined, artifactual, and observed.
Set within the chambers and vaults of the Crypt Gallery, MATTER considers weight, resistance, luminosity, and time through the physical act of making.

PLASTIC CONTROL II is part of an on-going and interdisciplinary research project by artist and post-graduate researcher, William Lakin on the subject of online conspiracy theory communities. The works in this show consist of photography, text, sculpture and interactive pieces and centre around the storytelling and world-building practices of online conspiracy theory communities
Conspiracy theories are both familiar and absurd; they recycle well-established conspiracy tropes and at the same time adapt to new information and circumstances. They morph and mould to the shape and size of our concerns, they mirror, but they distort. The product is a kind of cultural residue; an incidental and incoherent cocktail of fiction, history and entertainment.

The works in this exhibition are a response to the nature of conspiracy communications and invites the viewer to narrativise; to interpret the works and to consider the relationship between storytelling and meaning-making typical of social interactions but which, in our heavily networked and algorithmically-curated online spaces, takes on new significance and leads to unexpected consequences.

SUBSURFACE
1–3 August: 11am–4pm
Private view: 31 July 6–9 pm

Set within the historic crypt beneath St Pancras Church, Subsurface invites visitors to explore the ways contemporary artists reveal histories, memories, and lived experiences through diverse artistic practices. Beneath the visible surface, each work uncovers narratives that challenge perception and encourage deeper reflection.

Bringing together sculpture, painting, photography, printmaking, and mixed-media works, the exhibition explores themes of hidden histories, material memory, archaeology, transformation, absence, and the marks left by time. The crypt’s distinctive architecture and historic character provide a quiet backdrop for the works, encouraging visitors to consider the relationships between objects, place, and memory from new perspectives.

Artists: Kelli Ali, Luca Bass, Emily Daly, Naixuan D**g, Ollie Howard, Olesia Kryvolapova, Meng Li, Mengya Li, Annabell Pu, Tajinder Singh Dhami, Odelia Tang, Edward Vear, Yin Wang, Jialu Yao, Qinlin Yang, Qinyunyi Zhang.

Exploring the boundaries between immigration, culture and identities

“The intention is not to erase difference, but to confront the gaps that remain
uncrossable yet real.”

The exhibition Mind the GAP aims to foster dialogue between emerging artists from University of the Arts London and artists from Taiwan, which support by Taiwanese Government, Kaohsiung City Bureau of Cultural Affairs. The exhibition seeks to create a space in which artistic practices can extend beyond geographical and cultural imaginaries.

The notion of the “Gap” functions as a liminal space—symbolizing distance, pause, and reflection—while also suggesting a site of coexistence within multicultural and migratory societies. It is within these zones of tension that new forms of language and identity emerge unconsciously.

The exhibition is divided into three primary zones: the entrance corridor focuses mainly on painting; the central block space is primarily dedicated to installation; and the deepest, elongated gallery presents projection works in a continuous loop, bringing together painting, installation, and cross-media visual narratives.

This spatial choreography echoes the artists’ inquiries into bodily imagery, emotional shifts, the subconscious, processes of healing, and the spirituality embedded within materiality. Through these diverse perspectives, the exhibition reflects on how individuals negotiate coexistence and move forward amid differences in race, culture, and worldview.
