Singing Hands was established in 2003 by Suzanne Miell-Ingram and Tracy Upton MBEs. Suzanne and Tracy are both parents of children with additional needs (Ella and Miles, born in 1999). They are both Makaton Regional Tutors and have appeared on Cbeebies TIKKABILLA and the award-winning Makaton signing programme SOMETHING SPECIAL with Mr Tumble. Singing Hands run baby and toddler music signing class

es in SW London and offer educational concerts in a range of settings including nurseries, mainstream & special schools (from nursery through to college age students), hospices, children's centres. Singing Hands run weekly sessions at Great Ormond Street Children's Hospital and monthly sessions at Evelina Children's Hospital in London. Singing Hands perform at large events such as London Zoo Special Children's Day, for various SEN Support Group events and for young people and adults at Youth Groups / MENCAP Gateway groups / Colleges. Singing Hands offer an extensive repertoire of music from nursery rhymes and actions songs for younger children through to show tunes & pop songs for older children, teenagers and adults. Singing Hands perform LIVE with bespoke backing tracks and can perform to both smaller groups and to large theatre based events for many hundreds. Singing Hands have produced 3 nursery rhymes DVDs and CDs and 2 Christmas DVDs and CDs and a Pop DVD & CD in association with the Makaton Charity. They have also produced 2 Makaton signed songbooks which are now available in pdf downloadable format. All these resources are available from the Singing Hands online shop. Suzanne and Tracy are both Ambassadors for Skylarks Charity and Patrons of the Makaton Charity. They were awarded MBEs in the 2021 Queen’s NY Honours List for Services to Children and Young People with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities. We’ve put on extra wheelchair ♿️ spaces this time and there are still TWO remaining so don’t waste this opportunity to join us!

There will be a Mobiloo accessible changing van on site as well.

Just back from a whirlwind tour of the North East with my fellow pal Anna Talk To The Hand - Makaton Training. We were lucky to visit 4 new settings on this trip!

On Wednesday, we visited Castle School in Ashington and had a fantastic day of singing & signing with all the pupils & staff. And we were joined by the reception classes from the adjoining mainstream school too. Joyful! Lovely to meet fellow tutors Lucy & Stef who are the Makaton champions in school 🙏🎶

Had my first Peach Melba after school - a Geordie specialty which we don’t have down south 😋

On Thursday we visited Percy Hedley Foundation and had another super day of singing and signing across all the year groups. Lots of magical moments here too. With huge thanks to SLTs Julie, Kate & Myar. And good luck to Kate with your Makaton tutor training in the Autumn.

Thursday night saw Suzanne’s interview about Singing Hands go out on BBC local radio too!

And on Friday we visited School, secondary SEND school, so it was a day of pop songs, film songs & musicals & a special song in the final assembly. Absolutely brilliant signing from all the learners - super keen signers which was a joy to see ♥️ Huge thanks to music specialist Jacqui for organising our visit.

We finished the day filming a special Alice Cooper song in silly wigs and eye make up in the van in the school car park. Can you guess what it might be?

And today we were with the amazing, parent-led SEND support group The Special Lioness in Chester-Le-Street. Thank you so much to Amy & Claire for inviting us to join your families - some familiar faces came along and lots of new ones too! Lots of great singing, signing and joining in 🫶🏼 And got to meet another Makaton tutor here too Lauren Young Makaton Tutor ♥️

Time to rest the voice now and put our feet 👣 up after a long and very rainy drive home 🏠 🫶🏼
