with ONE WHOLE YEAR since The Dumb Waiter closed its sold out run at the Pilch, we thought we’d take you through some reviews we got over the past year. This is because a) they were all lovely and we’re proud of them, and b) we never posted Girls and Dolls and Blithe Spirit reviews (because making a Canva post takes time and Foster is lazy). and last but by no means least… the A Squared regulars!

Coming up first we have Evie, who must have the most iconic surname in all of OUDS - so iconic that Mark Zuckerberg thinks it’s fake, and forbids her from using it on Facebook. Having tech every A2 show basically EVER (and some Strikes Back ones too) we knew we had to get Evie back in for one more go around the tech box.

Next up is Jem who, having been roped in to welfare Harold Pinter has ended up being dragged into the OUDS world. Currently busy booking out for a Monday instagram takeover instead of us, her services have been required more than ever this time round. She’s invaluable x

And ah, Mr Nathaniel Jones. Having said many a time that he would ‘NOT UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES be producing another bloody OUDS show’ he found out (very late indeed) that he did want to, and he’s absolutely got a licence (ho ho) to drive us into show week. Having not replied to our message in time, his job title is tongue in cheek, because everyone knows he REALLY runs the show here.

Like Mia, we kidnapped Teagan and hid her away until she made a proper Ouija Board for the show’s many, many séance scenes. Cursed by a vengeful spirit because we didn’t break the board into 7 pieces and bury them in separate places, we are sorry to lose her but she remains in our hearts 🥰🕊

Hot off the heels of directing A Doll’s House at Keble with , Jigy was swiftly brought back so we could figure out how to fill the MASSIVE theatre space. It looks fab.

and now we have the BLITHE SPIRIT COOL CREW!! Coming up first Lucas, who’s Assistant Directing, and Mia, who’s making sure all the cast look PENG and WELL DRESSED.

When asked how he would describe himself, Lucas did not chafe at the phrase ‘campest person ever’. Only chosen because his middle name is Alex (therefore fitting the cursed genesis of A Squared), Lucas does all the fun bits directing the show, like line running and cradling Foster when he murmurs ‘lie sense’ in the corner.

Meanwhile after seeing the glorious costumes in ’s Mojo we stole Mia away, and set her to work in the O’Reilly. Faced with the challenge of dressing Miss Take well for once, she was promptly let out when we found out she really was that good.

rounding out tonight's thrilling th*****me is... the other half of A²!! A strangely absent half these days, it must be said. Alex claims he’s ‘retired’ and, when he's not copying Danny McNamee's profile pic pose, spends most of his time staring into the middle distance - presumably trying to work out what an associate director does.

He tends to only show up to meetings when there’s the promise of diet coke and chocolate- and lo and behold, he was suspiciously keen to be involved in the show once the plush party was announced.
