Atelier-NAF

Atelier-NAF I am a British-Swiss artist and poet, born and raised in Lausanne, Switzerland. Largely self-taught, I studied art until I completed secondary school.

In 2005 I moved to London, feeling the pull of the ‘big smoke’, and the city has been my home ever since. My childhood was spent reading encyclopaedias, creating and acting out comics and games and experimenting with different media. After completing a degree in hospitality, I pursued a successful career in the beauty industry and eventually set up my own branding consultancy. During these years I

continued to explore my creative interests and refining my artistic skills, knowing I wasn’t truly following my calling, and in 2019 I established , an Instagram profile to formally display my art to the public. In 2022 I decided to focus on my artistic pursuits. I have exhibited at a number of galleries and have sold to collectors internationally, also developing commissioned work.

Hackney, consider yourself invited. 🎨✨

What makes an icon? Fame? Fortune? A blue plaque? Or is it the people you pass every day who quietly make this borough the wonderfully weird, creative and chaotic place we all love?

This week, Icons of London x Hackney arrives at Mei-xhibition — a Hackney Art Week showcase curated by — alongside exciting works from and .

Featuring thirteen watercolour portraits, each nominated by the public, my collection celebrates the local legends, unsung heroes and unforgettable characters who give Hackney its soul.

And what better excuse to see them than our Soirée beneath the arches? 🥂

Come for the portraits.

Stay for the conversations.

Leave wondering who your iconic Hackneyite would be.

Because perfection is overrated. Hackney's magic has always lived in the beautifully imperfect. 💛

Some people wear colour. Others are.

This June, Icons of London — In the Pink finds its natural home inside Pink Chaos: Mei Hui Liu’s Hackney Art Week collective at Prokofiev Gallery, Dalston. Alongside Andrew Logan, Pandemonia, Sue Kreitzman, Tatty Devine, and a gathering of artists who play with the rosier shade, these portraits celebrate the humans who make pink a statement.

What a weekend. 🩷
Icons of London is visiting Hackney and Hackney showed up beautifully. Dumplings, art and music at the wonderful .london, with sounds by and , and our fabulous guests.
A big thank you to for co-curating and for making everything feel alive, to everyone at Malevendà for being such generous hosts, and to everybody who joined in.
The exhibition continues until the end of May, so there’s still time to come and see the Icons on the walls of London Fields.
And this is just the warm-up. From 4–14 June, a Hackney Thread of portraits moves to as part of — a group show curated with Mei, and very much worth the visit.
