🔥From Kitchen to Inferno🔥

Inspired by Dante’s Inferno, reimagined through the eyes of granddaughters, migrants and women carrying the fire of those who came before.

As a director of this devised project, I’ve had the privilege of working with a powerful community of performers and immigrant women throughout July. Together, we’ve created a piece rooted in testimony, physical storytelling and a collective memory.

At the heart of the piece is the grandmother’s kitchen, a metaphorical space where the granddaughters connect across time, geography and silence. It is a place of inherited wisdom, unspoken trauma and transformation. From this kitchen, the journey into the inferno begins.

This is more than theatre, it’s a community-driven exploration of shame, rage, resilience and belonging.

Each performer embodies a granddaughter walking through her own inferno, her feelings and memories mirrored by the ensemble.

What we shared at our fundraising night was just the beginning.

In November, the full performance arrives: a feminist, surreal and deeply human reckoning with diaspora, identity and memory.
