Cryccen, pronounced k-r-ooken, is Old English for ‘made of clay’.

Revisiting my prehistoric people, inspired by ‘Venus figures’ and the like. Thought I would try something different and carve from one lump of terracotta. It’s tricky but very satisfying.






Out of the fire, washed and with a coat of beeswax. Beautiful, random, smokey patterns on terracotta. ❤️
