This afternoon, the very first Opera Industry Parliamentary drop-in showcased more than twenty opera companies from across the UK, hosted by Dr Simon Opher MP (Secretary of the Opera All-Party Parliamentary Group).

Flora McIntosh, OperaUpClose Artistic Director & CEO gave the opening welcome to MPs and fellow founder members of the UK Opera Association. A great opportunity to share the super work happening across our sector 🎉

Professional development was a key feature at Grasmere Song this week, complementing top-level teaching from Artistic Director Audrey Hyland and the excellent team of tutors and coaches.

We included auditions, CV advice and opportunities to work with casting professionals, conductors and music staff from across the UK & Irish opera companies/festivals. Care of the professional voice was covered by Valentine Voice Care with Isabella Morgan offering therapeutic massage…a complete, holistic environment for self development set in the beautiful Lake District. Thank you particularly Christine Chibnall and Megan Nelson 😊
