A beautiful new addition to the Music That Lives collection. 🌹✨

Broadwood & Sons Cabinet Pianoforte, c. 1840s

This beautiful and rare instrument is entirely in its original condition, including original action, keys and silk curtain. This makes it a significant piece of piano-making history and an important example of how these unique instruments were made, providing valuable material for future research and study.

Critically acclaimed virtuoso pianist Tyler Hay presents the launch of his new album dedicated to the music of John Field.

Tyler will perform works by Chopin, Field and Jade, culminating in Liszt's monumental Piano Sonata in B minor.

Performed on the original 1860 Broadwood & Sons grand piano, this promises to be an evening not to be missed!

Evening Schedule

Doors: 18:30 – with a welcoming glass of champagne to start the evening.

Music: 19:00

Reception: 20:45 – post-concert reception with a curated selection of wines and refreshments, included in the ticket price.

✨ Tabitha Tuckett and Yvonne Cheng created a captivating programme that took us on an incredible musical journey spanning four centuries.

It was a profound experience to hear Tabitha's 18th-century cello and our 19th-century grand piano, as the sound worlds of two instruments, representing two centuries, merged in such a pure and beautiful harmony.

Our sincere thanks also go to our featured young artist Malaki Conteh for his heartfelt performance of Mendelssohn's Hear My Prayer, and for so generously providing refreshments for the evening from his local café.

It was wonderful to see all of you who joined us for this beautiful recital.

It was a true pleasure and honour to welcome the remarkable master Julian Jacobson to our beautiful Salon.

What a unique musical journey it was - from the fiery, bold worlds of Haydn and Beethoven, through the passionate poetic melancholy of Chopin, into the nostalgic reflections of intimate Family Album, and finally to the luminous 20th century colours of Debussy.

Tabitha Tuckett (cello) and Yvonne Cheng (piano) present a captivating programme featuring works by Bach, Beethoven, F***y Mendelssohn Hensel, Lili Boulanger, and the première of an original composition by Misty Jade - Contemplation in E major for solo cello.

Performing together since 2016, they bring a wealth of chamber music experience and a deep understanding of both historical and contemporary repertoire.

The programme also features a special appearance by Malaki Conteh, a 13-year-old Head Chorister at Chichester Cathedral, performing Felix Mendelssohn's Hear My Prayer, offering a delightful and memorable moment in the evening.
