That Monday feeling 🐍😶😂..
With the right approach, kids love exploring the work of great artists! From Picasso to Toulouse-Lautrec, I've taught so many happy, fun lessons based around great works of art. This drawing of Toulouse-Lautrec's Jane Avril lithograph was done by a 6-year-old student, intensely curious about the snake design Jane's dress. 'Is it a real snake or just a pattern?!', 'what does it mean?!' she asked, pulling the printed image across the table toward her 🤓❤️🎨. Maybe we could all benefit from looking at art through a child's eyes 🤔 They never miss a thing!!

Portrait of the artist as a young man! 🤓✏️
Always fun for kids and treasured by their parents! I have each of my students create a self-portrait once a year. For this young man, it was his first attempt at a realistic portrait. He captured a great likeness (with just a hint of pre-teen grumpiness for extra accuracy points 😂)... There's nothing better than watching young artists grow in skill and imagination 🌟 , and these self-portraits make it extra special! ❤️

It's FriYay!! I know we're all locked down, but it's still the end of the working week! So, it's time for me to put my pencils away and meet Pikachu on the living room dance floor! 💃🍸
I love teaching children how to draw their favourite characters. It's a great way to get them excited about painting and drawing. I always ask every student what they love to watch and read, incorporating their answers into my lessons. This always produces the biggest smiles, and it keeps me a bit younger too! 👴🏼✏️❤️

This young Oryctolagus Cuniculus (that's Latin talk for bunny 👨🏻‍🎓) has the right idea!👍 Wash away the memory of Monday and maybe grab some bubbles of a different kind 🥂😉 Because bunny knows best!
I hope my youngest students are still making you smile! This bubble bath bunny was my student's first attempt at using pastels. What do you think of her work? I know we had great fun drawing it! 🤓✏️❤️

And lo the monster did smash through the city, his lazer eyes tearing into the horizon, searching for the only thing that would sate his hunger. PIZZA!!! 🍕❤️James, who had tagged along, thought that raising the city to the ground in search of a decent quattro formaggi was perhaps a little unnecessary. But 'there's no arguing with him in this state', James thought and continued shovelling cake into his face 🙃🍰
Stories are an incredible way to help children draw, focusing even the most wayward of attention spans. They can remain engaged for hours, when conventional lessons would have them struggling in 30mins. Let your children's imaginations run wild, and watch how easily they improve their skills!! 🤓❤️✏️

Ready for 2021 like 😈💪!!! - Let's start the new year with something positive! I can't think of a better way to begin than by celebrating some of my youngest students and the incredible things they do! In the days ahead you'll see everything from Godzilla on the rampage for pizza to Pikachu busting moves like John Travolta!! The best thing about teaching children is their limitless imaginations ❤️🤯. They never fail to put a smile on my face. I hope they put one on yours too! 🤓❤️✏️
This drawing of Naruto was done in Photoshop after only a few lessons of practice and no prior experience! It's amazing what children can achieve when lessons are exciting and tailored to the things they love!!

What a year it's been! So no better time to show my face and say a huge THANK YOU to all of my incredible students! ❤️ to everyone who joined a course or webinar! ❤️ and to everybody who helped out behind the scenes! ❤️ This year I had to change things up completely, learning to teach exclusively online 🤖. It wasn't easy, but it was incredible to meet so many new people from all around the world! 🌎 In addition to my lovely UK students, new and fantastic artists enrolled from the United States, Ireland, Germany, Switzerland, The Netherlands, South Africa, Australia and China! Some won awards; others attained scholarships, one even broke a record!! New things are coming in 2021 - So please stick with me for the ride! Have a happy and healthy new year everyone!! ❤️🤓✏️ and !!

What an AWESOME TIME we had at Tuesday’s 🎉XMAS DRAWING XTRAVAGANZA🎉 !!! Over 30 children (aged 6-10) grabbed paper and pencils to help their dinosaur friends travel across space to deliver Christmas dinners of all kinds!! 🦕🚀🦖 I want to say THANK YOU to everyone that attended, shouted out their ideas and sent in their finished drawings!! Take a look at what some of our youngest artists came up with in little more than an hour!! A special shout out goes to Emilia who, at only 5, not only finished her drawing but is now filming her own instructional videos for her cousins with mum’s phone! You are all AMAZING!!❤️🤓✏️ P.s. As promised, I finished my drawing too. See if you can spot it amongst all the others 🧐
