Say hello to our September Flower of the Month: the Australian Daisy! 🌼💜

Coming to the end of their flowering period, we love how these low-maintenance, mat-forming perennials transform from crisp white to deep pinkish-purple throughout the sunny months.

They’re tough, drought-tolerant, and absolute magnets for bees and butterflies! 🦋

Want to add some to your garden beds or patio pots? They're able to flourish in most soil conditions making them great additions for the changing climate!

It’s National Video Games Day and this year we’ve had some amazing gaming days on the park! 👾

Back in May, LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight brought the all-new video game inspired by decades of Batman films to Potters Fields Park with none other than Diversity's Ashley and Jordan Banjo, who joined Londoners to be among the first to play the new game, surprising them with some amazing dance moves too!

Before that in April, characters from Nikke: Goddess of Victory were projected onto a 7-metre-tall LED screen to celebrate 3.5 years of the games launch with Tower Bridge in the background. Nikke introduced one of its idol gameplay characters and three new characters on the big screen for the online players.

It’s the International Day of Charity and over the years we’ve hosted several great causes here at the park, mostly in the form of Charity walks! 💙

At the end of the month Diabetes UK are back this September with Wellness Walk London Bridges, a fundraising walk supporting people affected by and living with diabetes.

Sign-ups are now open for this accessible fundraising walk on Sunday 27 September 2026. Choose between a 5-mile or 10-mile route and take in some of London's most iconic bridges and riverside views, all while supporting Diabetes UK's vital work. Both routes offer step-free, wheelchair-accessible options and are family friendly.

This weekend it is international Whale Shark Day and whilst, sadly, we haven't had one of these on the park, we did once have a whale!

Back in 2017, The Sky Ocean Rescue campaign brought a 10-metre whale to the park entirely constructed from plastic pulled from the ocean and single-use bottles representing the amount of plastic that pollutes the oceans every second to raise awareness about marine pollution.

We host a number of awareness campaigns at Potters Fields Park, and many of them are centred around the seas and water usage being so close to the Thames.

Like in 2021, came to the park with four ice sculptures portraying different cultures from around the world collecting water to highlight how climate change is causing fragile water sources to disappear for vulnerable communities.

Water Aid said ‘Climate change is making it even harder for many to get clean water. Longer droughts dry up springs and wells, and more frequent flooding pollutes poorly protected water supplies.’

With a lengthy Latin name, Allium carinatum subsp. pulchellum or keeled garlic, is a late summer bloomer with either dusty purple or white bells that dangle from the top of their stems.

They're doing well in our drought resistant planting scheme, making them our flower of the month for August.

An edible plant (not for pets!) offering sweet mild garlic and onion flavours, with the leaves complementing salads and the flowers making for a lovely garnish on and flavour in soups!

They are easy to grow but it’s best to keep them in contained spaces as they like to spread!

It’s one of our favourite weeks of the year: LOVE PARKS WEEK!🌳

Whilst Potters Fields Park features a lot on our socials due to the amazing events we are able to host, not to mention our views, many people forget about St John’s Churchyard just across the road, another park that we manage which may not have the spectacular London City views but has a great deal of character and wonderful wetland beds which are flourishing in the British Summer.

Parks, especially those in cities are so important not only for the environment – providing cleaner air, micro habitats for wildlife and they reduce the ‘urban heat island effect’ by providing natural shade – but also for the wellbeing of our local community.

They can be a sanctuary for our physical and mental wellbeing. Spending time in them offers opportunities for exercise, social connection and stress reduction through a simple dose of nature.

So show your appreciation this week for your favourite local parks 🌸

If you were unable to attend the Thailand Showcase last weekend, do not fear!

We have the Pizza Village coming to the park from the 23-26 July for its first ever event in the UK. 🍕

The Pizza Village has been an annual international event held in cities across Italy, Berlin and New York dedicated to showcasing Neapolitan pizza and the Italian tradition. With Caputo – il Mulino di Napoli as the event’s title sponsor, the event on Potters Fields park will bring made-in-Italy excellence to the United Kingdom with some of the best pizzerias from Italy.

Pizza Village London is not just about tasting, the public will be able to participate in amateur master classes for adults, discover the secrets of the art of pizza, experience moments of music and take part in workshops and events designed for all ages.

A must-attend event in London for lovers of pizza and Italian culture, in an atmosphere full of energy, tradition and fun.

We hope to see you there, we certainly will be!

Another turn around the sun, another Green Flag award. 💚

Both Potters Fields Park and St John’s Churchyard have kept their winning streak going at the ! Great news in our 21st anniversary year.

This annual accreditation managed by environmental charity acknowledges amazing green spaces in the UK and the hard work that goes into maintaining them. 🏞

Every year we must give a shout out to the hard work and dedication of the team for looking after our parks and keeping them clean, tidy and full of lush greenery for the community to enjoy.

Phase 1 of our new sustainable planting scheme, planted in 2025, has thrived and exploded with colour, flora and pollinators this year. Phase 2 was completed early in 2026 and is already establishing well.

Special thanks go to to and for designing and completing both phases, which see beds of recycled sand and crushed concrete planted with a variety of drought-tolerant native and European species suitable for the ever-changing climate. The bees, the birds and the butterflies are already enjoying the new habitats.

And just like that, the Potters Fields Fair has been and gone!

We can’t believe it’s been two weeks, but now that we’ve had time to catch our breath from delivering this amazing event, we want to say a big thank you to everyone that helped us put on the Potters Fields Fair and Make Music Day on June 20 & 21.

It was a lovely weekend full of family fun, community, music and dance – not to mention a dog show and plenty of delicious food and cool drinks to enjoy.

Thankfully the British weather held out for us with the sun shining, as we, and you all, celebrated 21 years of Potters Fields Park Management Trust.

Here’s to the next 21 years!
