As spring transitions to summer in May, you can expect to see more Primula vulgaris, or wild primrose, on Potters Fields Park for our May flower of the month!

This rosette-forming perennial can grow in clusters or in long stalked single stems of fragrant pale yellow and white flowers.

Able to withstand harsh cold winters as well as full sun exposure, it’s an ideal flower to withstand the British weather!

Back in May 2023, visitors to Potters Fields Park got their early morning caffeine hit for free with some samples from Starbucks.

Starbuck Oleato was a limited edition coffee which saw the infusion of Partanna extra virgin olive oil with their iconic espresso.

Potters Fields Park is an iconic London outdoor venue perfect for external brand activations, retail pop-ups and sampling events.

July is booked up for activations on the park! However, we have great availability for some summer sun (hopefully) activations in August!

It’s been two years to the day since Aunt Marge went large on Potters Fields Park. 🎈

To mark the 20th anniversary of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban and the launch of the new Return to Azkaban experience, Warner Bros.

Studio Tour London spent 264 hours designing and building the 19-foot replica of Harry’s unbearable Aunt, who took flight over our park in 2024.

Playing on the iconic comical scene in the movie, the activation revealed more about the making of the film saga, with brand ambassadors on the day telling fans about the original movie scene.

Opting not to create the inflation spell with CGI, the stunt created a hand-crafted inflatable of actress Pam Ferris, using two bodysuits pumped with air tubes, plus inflatable gloves and legs.

We love having fun and unexpected activations on Potters Fields Park, so if you’re thinking of planning an event with us we still have some summer availability.

🌍World Earth Day falls on the 22nd of April every year since 1970, a lasting reminder that our climate is changing due to pollution and deforestation.

It’s a day to acknowledge the little things that we could do to make a big impact on the journey to protecting the only home that we all have in common – Mother Earth.

Here are just some of the little things you could do:

🌸 Learn about pollinators – we have beehives on our park to observe with a load more information on our website about the park’s wildlife and pollinators. (check the link in our bio)

🌸Shop at local farmer markets or produce shops to reduce your carbon footprint

🌸 Plant pollinator plants if you can – windowsills, balconies or in gardens are all good spots!

🌸 Be plastic-free even for one day.

🌸 Rather than buy new clothes why not host a clothes/accessory swap party with friends?

🌸 Rather than having the tv on, spend an hour reading a book to reduce your energy usage.

All our little actions add up to one big impact so why not try one today.

🌺 Now that Spring is in full swing, it’s no surprise that our Judas trees in St John’s Churchyard are in flower! 🌺

Also known as Cercis siliquastrum, its common name comes from the belief that Judas Iscariot hanged himself from the tree after betraying Jesus. However, they’re also known as The Love Tree which we think is a far more suitable name, with its deep-pink flowers appearing in clusters on bare branches followed by decorative, heart shaped leaves and purple pods.

Ours are only a few metres tall, planted a few years ago when we had St John’s Churchyard redeveloped, but we’re delighted to see them flourishing this year.

They can grow up to 12 metres tall and 8 metres wide after a few decades!

If you happened to wander through Potters Fields Park last month you may have noticed some works taking place…

Phase Two of our sustainable replanting project saw more of our flower beds become drought-resistant environments. A mix of pollinator-friendly species was planted into a recycled sand and crushed concrete medium. With little watering needed, the transformation will offer a greater variety of wildlife habitats and improve the park’s biodiversity.

This phase of work includes an upgrade to our existing irrigation system, allowing essential watering to be better controlled, avoiding waste (and reducing our water bills).

These works are part-funded by Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) funding from London Borough of Southwark

We’re very grateful for their support and that of our local ward councillors in London Bridge & West Bermondsey.
