There’s something about a thunderstorm after a hot summer day.
The air changes first. That dry, heavy heat gives way to something cooler. The smell of rain arrives before the rain itself. The fields seem greener, the colours richer, the whole world feels like it has exhaled.
By the time we reached the woods, the storm had arrived.
The clouds darkened, and for a few minutes everything felt beautifully alive.
Rain drummed through the trees, thunder rolled overhead, and Huxley couldn’t have been happier. Running with Sam, completely unbothered by the weather and fully convinced this was the greatest adventure of the week. ( As was I )
Just that wild excitement that seems to exist somewhere between childhood and being a dog!
