The news is out: Halfpace is bringing an updated version of our award-winning show Transit to The Cockpit this July!

We can't wait to see you there. Tickets at the link in bio.

How do you pack a life into 23 kilograms? One item at a time.

Transit is an evocative, genre-bending exploration of migration and what it means to find a place to call home. Told through a series of vignettes utilising physical theatre, poetry, dance, multimedia, practical lights and live music, Transit navigates the tricky feeling of being 'too foreign for here, too foreign for home.'

This deeply human piece is a love letter to everyone who has ever lived in between where you came from and where you are now, whether it be 5 or 5,000 miles away.

With thanks to and the Unity Theatre Trust for their generous support.

This isn't our *big* announcement (yet), but we're nonetheless excited to be returning to the University of East London on 6 March for another 'Making It Work' career panel with our friends Ensemble Not Found!

For any migrant artists (especially new arrivals) looking to understand how to make your way in the UK performing arts industry, this event is for you. Our panelists are all migrants working in the field who will discuss how they have 'made it work' and answer your most burning questions in a live Q&A. This panel will be followed by time to meet your fellow artists and panelists in a lowkey networking session.

The panel is FREE and anyone can join - you don't have to be a UEL student (or a migrant even!) to come along. Book via the link in bio or the QR code.

The next round of CROSS POLLINATION is now open for applications!

CROSS POLLINATION is a night for artists who have never worked together to collaborate and create interdisciplinary and experimental work.

We'll pair up 6 artists into 3 cross-disciplinary groups, offering them space, time and resource to explore their partnership.

On the night of the scratch, they'll share their findings, followed by an artist speed dating session for the whole audience.

We want a wide range of disciplines to apply - from musicians to lighting designers, dancers to academics, clowns to scientists, we want YOU (yes you, reading this post).

That's right...we've got another jam coming your way!

Part skill swap, part community building, a devising jam is a way for artists to flex their creative muscles and meet potential collaborators. Whether you are an experienced deviser, are just starting out, or have no idea what devised theatre is (but are curious to find out), this is a space for practitioners to come together and test out ideas and techniques without the pressure of making a show at the end.

All skill levels welcome. Drop us an email to register and let us know if you want to bring a friend! Devising jams, as always, are FREE!

We got another event coming your way!

MIGRANT CAREER DEVELOPMENT PANEL BY HALFPACE THEATRE AND ENSEMBLE NOT FOUND:

Are you a migrant artist trying to launch a career in the UK? Or perhaps a fellow freelancer or company wondering how you can better support your migrant collaborators? Join us for a panel discussion and Q&A exploring how migrants can ‘make it work’ in the UK theatre industry. Our panellists will discuss their experiences and offer advice on how to ‘make it work’ as a migrant in the UK. We’ll spend the first portion going through tips and tricks for your first few years in the UK, including some of the biggest challenges and opportunities available to migrant artists, followed by a Q&A where you can ask your most burning questions.

The panel will feature 4 migrant creatives from performing arts backgrounds: Creative Producer, Lecturer, and Theatre Critic – Dr. Caleb Lee, Scenographer, Lighting and Video Designer – Cheng Keng, Poet, Writer and Theatre Maker – Nina Telegina, and Cultural Curator, Creative Entrepreneur and Marketing Professional – Fàgbèmí Ọ̀ṣìnúgà. The panel will be moderated by Producer, Writer & Arts Manager – Lydia Idakula.
