❝As a lawyer, by the grace of God, on Monday, I’m going to court. We have to test that. A man who is in charge of revenue collection for the Federal Republic of Nigeria is also the Deputy Director in charge of fundraising for Tinubu’s presidential campaign. If that is not conflict of interest, I don’t know what else it would be❞ — Dino Melaye vows to challenge Zacch Adedeji’s role in Tinubu’s 2027 campaign council.

Former Kogi West Senator and ADC chieftain, Dino Melaye, has vowed to take legal action over the appointment of Nigeria Revenue Service Chairman Zacch Adedeji as Deputy Director of Fundraising in President Bola Tinubu’s 2027 Presidential Campaign Council.

Melaye questioned the propriety of a serving public official responsible for the country’s revenue collection taking up a fundraising role in a political campaign. He said the matter would be tested in court on Monday.

The former lawmaker also criticised Tinubu’s decision to chair his own campaign council, describing the arrangement as “a disgrace” and alleging that it reflects a lack of confidence within the APC.

The APC’s campaign council list names Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun as Director of Fundraising and Zacch Adedeji as Deputy Director of Fundraising.

“I Don’t Want To Lose My State! If You Are DG And You Don’t Win Your State, What Is The Essence Of The DG?” — Wike Explains Why He Would Reject Tinubu’s 2027 Campaign DG Appointment

FCT Minister Nyesom Wike has explained why he would not accept an appointment as Director-General of President Bola Tinubu’s 2027 presidential campaign council, despite insisting that he is qualified for the position.

Wike said he is not a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), adding that even if President Tinubu personally offered him the position, he would respectfully decline and explain his reasons.

The former Rivers State governor also recalled the electoral performances of previous presidential campaign DGs, including Rotimi Amaechi, Bukola Saraki, Aminu Tambuwal and Simon Lalong, who he claimed lost their respective states during presidential elections.

Wike said his priority is to remain focused on delivering his “two states” — Rivers State and the FCT — rather than taking a campaign position that could distract from that objective.

“I don’t want to lose my state! I will be in my state. I have two states: FCT and Rivers. What is important is that you are able to deliver those two states. So it is not about being DG. If you are DG and you don’t win your state, what is the essence of the DG?”

“He’s Afraid of Everybody” — Dino Melaye Knocks Tinubu for Appointing Himself 2027 Campaign Council Chairman

Former lawmaker Dino Melaye has criticised President Bola Tinubu for appointing himself chairman of the APC’s 2027 presidential campaign council, describing the move as “disgraceful” and a sign that the President does not trust his governors, ministers or other party members.

Melaye questioned how a presidential candidate could simultaneously head his own campaign council, claiming the arrangement shows Tinubu wants everything to be reported directly to him.

“Some People Are Trying To Make Money From Us Over My Father’s Illness — They Bring N800,000, N5m, $11,000, $18,000 As ‘Solutions’; We Are Not Billionaires” — Ogogo’s Daughter Cries Out

Kira Taiwo, daughter of veteran Yoruba actor Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, has accused some individuals of allegedly trying to profit from her father’s battle with stage-four cancer.

Kira made the emotional revelation during a TikTok live session, where she broke down while speaking about the family’s struggle to secure treatment for the actor.

According to her, some people have approached the family with different offers and financial demands, leaving them under additional pressure at a time when their major concern is getting medical help for their father.

She said, “My father is a good father. Some people are even trying to make money with us in this whole situation. Fear God. This one will come and bring solution, N800k, N5m, $11,000, $18,000. Do you want to make us broke? We are not billionaires.”

Kira stressed that the family’s priority was not receiving money but finding someone capable of treating the actor, as she appealed to medical professionals and anyone with access to cancer treatment to assist.

She also revealed that the situation has taken an emotional toll on the entire family, particularly her father’s brother, whom she described as being extremely close to Ogogo.

The actor’s daughters had previously appealed to Nigerians, well-wishers and medical professionals for assistance, clarifying that they were seeking medical intervention rather than financial donations.

Ogogo, 66, is a veteran Nollywood actor whose career spans more than four decades and includes appearances in over 300 films.

Speaking during his victory speech, Umahi reportedly said he would not accept any salary or allowance as chairman of the council, insisting that his intention was to serve the people rather than make money from the position.

“I won’t accept salary or allowance as Ohaozara LGA chairman. I am coming to serve and not to make money,” he said.

“Arsenal Want Victor Osimhen To Accept Pay Cut Before Completing His Transfer To The Emirates, As Gunners Refuse To Match His Over €20m Annual Salary At Galatasaray” — Report

Arsenal have reportedly made it clear that Victor Osimhen must be willing to take a reduction in his salary demands if he wants to complete a move to the Emirates before the summer transfer window closes.

The Gunners remain interested in the Nigeria international after their efforts to sign Atletico Madrid forward Julian Alvarez failed, with the Argentine reportedly favouring a move to Barcelona.

According to FootMercato, Arsenal have held direct talks over a potential deal for Osimhen but are unwilling to offer him a contract that matches his current earnings at Galatasaray, where he reportedly earns more than €20 million annually.

Galatasaray are also reluctant to part ways with the striker, having reportedly rejected a €130 million offer from Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal earlier this month.

Despite the uncertainty surrounding his future, Osimhen has started the season strongly, scoring twice and providing an assist in Galatasaray’s 4-0 victory over Erzurumspor on Friday.

The striker also scored twice in a 2-2 draw against Corum FK, as Arsenal continue to wait on his decision over a possible move to England.
