Spiral wedging larger amounts of clay.
I find this method is much easier than rams head wedging when you have a large amount of clay.
Stand straight onto your table.
One foot behind other, arms into your body so it’s your body weight rather than just your arms doing the work.
Hands together holding the top of the clay, push forward and down then roll clay up and slightly round to the left then repeat. This can take a while to learn but very worth it. Keep practising and it will ‘click’.

Throwing a tall cylinder sometimes involves pulling up from the outside. This piece of clay was troublesome but I reached the height I needed by pulling up as usual then using 6 points of contact on the outside and drawing the clay up higher. The long rib is incredibly useful too for finishing the surface. Next time I’ll position the camera properly!
