What does it mean to heal from exhaustion… and what happens when we give ourselves permission to play, breathe and create?

We’re excited to welcome Belgian multidisciplinary artist Reinel Bakole to our studios for an intimate One Room Talk, as part of our pilot residency programme in collaboration with a House for Artists.



Reinel is a dancer, vocalist and multidisciplinary artist whose practice moves between sound, movement and poetry. Her debut album Healing Exhaustion is a dreamlike, playful and deeply physical exploration of vulnerability, rest and transformation.

Some of you might remember Reinel from her captivating performance at The New East Festival with New Wave Magazine in 2020. Now, she’s back in London developing new work in our studios in Barking.

We’ll be talking about:

→ healing & burnout
→ music, movement & the body
→ the role of play in creativity
→ making work in Belgium
→ returning to London
→ what residency and creative space can make possible
→ and, importantly… where to find all the sauce in her hometown 👀

The programme is filling up nicely 😋 Here’s what to look out for this week and beyond…

Tomorrow: We’re super excited to sit down with Reinel Bakole .All the way from Belgium, Reinel is joining us for our first international artist residency, in collaboration with A House for Artists.

Reinel first performed with us back in 2020 at the New East Festival in Barking with New Wave Magazine, so we’re very excited to catch up, hear what she’s been working on and see what she’s bringing to the residency. 👀

Also tomorrow: Chess + everything analogue ♟️📚🎨
Been meaning to learn chess? Need to work through that creative project you’ve been avoiding? Or maybe you just fancy talking to actual humans IRL for a change? Come through. We’ve got the space, the games and the good company.

Outside of our live music events, we’ve been exploring new ways to connect creatively IRL. That’s exactly what Everything Analogue is all about.

Step away from the screen and into an evening celebrating all things analogue. From board games and our Chess Club to slower, more mindful ways of connecting, it’s all about conversation, creativity, and enjoying time together, no experience needed, just come along.

🎨 Thursday – Open Studio
Our doors are open for anyone looking to make, create, experiment, or simply spend time in a welcoming creative space. Bring a project or just bring yourself.

🎶 Saturday – Live From 144
Our independent R&B and soul night returns for its fifth edition! Running since March, this is our first Live From 144 at the Visitor Centre, bringing together incredible live performances and a warm, intimate atmosphere. We’d love for you to be part of it.
