Last week I said goodbye to my wonderful colleagues and students at Francis Holland Sloane Square, where I’d been teaching on and off since 2014, and at St Dunstan’s College, where I’ve spent the last 3 years.

But it’s the students I’ll miss most. They are full of hope and dreams — they’ve inspired me, made me laugh, made me cry, sometimes all in the same lesson. This generation has it tougher than people give them credit for, yet they’re so strong and endlessly curious. Teaching them has been a privilege.

Here’s to opening the door to my future self, and all that it brings. 🚪✨

Last Saturday I had the absolute pleasure of attending the Come and Sing workshop for singers and choral conductors with the incredible Tori Longdon and Jonas Rasmussen all the way from Denmark 🇩🇰✨

What a gorgeous day of coming together and doing what we love most; using our voices to make music together. Around 300 of us filled St John’s Waterloo during the day, with a smaller group gathering again in the evening, and the atmosphere throughout was truly something special.

It felt inspirational, uplifting, and honestly a little bit magical connecting with so many friends and colleagues, learning alongside some of the friendliest heroes you could hope to meet.

So grateful to have been part of it all and very excited to see what the future brings ✨🎶

What a year it’s been with this incredible group ❤️From laughs to a few tears, smooth moments to the tougher ones — you kept showing up, pushing through, and growing every step of the way. Your first year journeys have been anything but small, and you’ve all come so far. You should be so proud of yourselves, because I certainly am.

You’ve taught me just as much as I hope I’ve given you — such a talented, resilient, and inspiring bunch. I can’t wait to see where the next two years (and beyond) take you.

Huge congratulations on such a brilliant sharing — the teamwork, the energy, the commitment… just amazing.

Special shoutout to Dan, my partner in crime in “singing” — your energy is unmatched! And to Tom and Alison, thank you for such a warm welcome to the department last autumn.

You are all amazing. Keep going ✨
