'Frustrated by the levels of inequality the North is subjected to during the pandemic (and since FOREVER) from a London-centric government, Layla decides to post a rant online. Views spiral to thousands, millions and soon she is the face of a movement.
Inspired by figures such as Greta Thunberg, Malala, and Joan of Arc, ‘Northern Saint’ explores equality injustices in the United Kingdom while analysing how we treat women in places of viral political power. Integrating technology through a group WhatsApp, this piece dives into the abuse, hate and vitriol women receive for speaking up, reflecting on recent events around women’s equality & safety.'
