Fragmented Isolation. This amazing carving by hits the Art in the Time of Virus: Isolation gallery pages just as we seem to be near our second round of isolation restrictions. The stone Brett carved is cobalt stone, with gorgeous colour to enhance the skilled piece of work. If that is not enough, his work has been compared to that of Cornelia Parker with her exploding shed et al. Thank you Brett for letting it appear in our gallery. We love it and are honoured indeed.

This wonderfully illustrated poem is by author and artist Stella Rose Benson. It is fitting that it allows us to look back to those desperate days when we were acclimatising to lockdown. So easy to forget but it is still happening all over the country and could happen again. I hope Stella Rose Benson’s words resonate with you as they did with me! Thank you, Stella Rose, for this brilliant contribution to our Art in the Time of Virus: isolation gallery.

I have been holding it back (tech challenged in part) ... it will appear very shortly (worth waiting for). A poem by artist and author Stella Rose Benson who muses on isolation in the time of virus. Of course, isolation is not entirely over for most of us who take great care so think on about how it has changed since the start (Sarah Lowe with her Cheerios and Alison Chaplin with her empty shells, for example). Here are Stella Rose Benson’s cats, one at least has accompanied her on many a literary and artist’s journey! Next week drop in for the full work!
