Boom, we’ve received the largest number of entries for DMC UK in over a decade, with turntablists from every corner of the country submitting their videos as they begin their journey to the World Final in London. A heartfelt thanks to all of you.
Here we reveal the DJs who have made it into the final pot, loads of household names you will recognise, but lots of newbies ready to make their mark on the most prestigious DJ competition on the planet. The judges were blown away by the quality and technique of this year’s UK entrants – even Darth Vadar tried getting in on the act.
After a final day of judging today, tomorrow we reveal the UK Finalists of The Classic, Supremacy and Scratch. 24 DJs will become 12. And soon 12 will become 3… on their way to London on November 13/14 for the biggest nights of their lives.
Joining these battle-ready turntablists at the DMC Technics UK Final at The Thekla on September 12 is one of the biggest line ups of guest DJs and live artists we have assembled in years. DMC UK proving yet again, we have an eye on tomorrow, as well as the past and present.
Featuring: Mr Thing, The Nextmen, Jaz Kahina live, JFB, NikNak, JFB, Sarah Love and Cutmaster Swift. Watch out too for the Bristol Scratch Café getting busy with Ortofon in Room 2 – it’s all going on at this historic venue next month!
