The fabled ancient city of Ubar. I remember being in Dhofar as a boy and being sat having dinner at a cafe in the mountains with my parents. At our table was a European man dressed like a local, telling tales of his adventures. That man was Sir Ranulph Fiennes, the person who found Ubar - The Atlantis of the Sands. He had served in the SAS during the Dhofar Rebellion and fell in love with the land, the people and the myth of this ancient forgotten city, referred to by the ancient Greeks in the great library of Alexander.

Just wrapped 5 weeks of shooting around this beautiful country. Such an honour to work on this massive project for the people. We filmed in from the north tip, across the water from , to the southern mountains on the border with . The variety of habitats and landscapes here in is immense. We know them all.

Today was a big day for as we sent one crew up to the highest point of Oman and one crew down into the deepest cave in Oman.. AT THE SAME TIME 🇴🇲😎

We at Oman Fixer are stoked to be working on the Al Safar Project - following the the footsteps of legendary 13 century Arab traveller and scholar Ibn Battuta! Of course we are pulling out all the stops on this one. Battuta visited Oman many times and potentially walked this very falaj system while the sun went down over the ancient Iranian ruins and mountains. Potentially ....
