Chaos? at the NLT Contemporary happenings and other sounds. This page holds documentation of the events. The focus is on experimental approach and process.

A monthly experimental music series hosted by Audrey Riley, held upstairs at the North London Tavern in Kilburn, London. Each last Thursday of the month this year Audrey Riley invites a guest to lead a performance set of experimental music upstairs at the North London tavern. The events are diverse - solo cello, electronics, text, cut-up scores, experimental works, jazz. Each event ends with an op

en invitation to join (or not) a structured improvisation - All Are Welcome. The series is an experiment. The intention is simply to create a situation in which to share work and sounds and to see what happens.

Join us for Chaos? this week at the NLT in Kilburn. This month's edition features Jake Williams in an electronic DJ set, electric violinist Tansy Spink, and David Arrowsmith (guitar) as guests. There will be solos, duos, trios, and Audrey will join on electric cello.

The customary All Are Welcome informal, structured improvisation will end the evening. Bring a sound and join!

Another great evening at Chaos? upstairs at the NLT last night and thanks to Taverner's Teapot for travelling down from Birmingham to play a great set.

Such a nice vibe for the Improvised Composition and All Are Welcome improvisation.

Looking forward to the next Chaos? at the NLT event, which is next week! Wednesday 29th October. 7.30pm upstairs at the North London Tavern.

Guests for this edition are Taverner's Teapot from Birmingham.

Taverner’s Teapot are a free improvised, psychedelic, jazz influenced, ambient collective including sax, voice, keys, and percussion presenting a set based in free improvisation.

There will also be an Improvised Composition version of the All Are Welcome group improvisation. Bring a sound! Or join in directing the group.

We were looking forward to hearing Alex Figl's group Animo at the next Chaos? event, but sadly they can no longer do it due to a date clash. Instead, you can hear them tonight in Queen's park at ICMP's Venue.
